Stock of long-term prescriptions?

If you take prescriptions (of any kind) long-term or permanently, how much do you keep on hand?
Some doctors keep you on a short leash with monthly refills.
Others will be happy to write you a script for a year's worth.
Of course this depends on the nature of the medication too.

Sorry that this question gets a bit complicated because there is the question of how often you refill
versus the maximum amount that you have on hand.

I usually have at least six months worth of androcur (AAs) and my doc doubles up my scripts so my P and E usually five to six months as well, P slightly less than E.

1 year script with 3 month refills through mail order. It's the cheapest I've ever seen ($70 for estrogen, spiro, and avodart for 90 days.)

I possibly I shouldn't admit how much stock we have on a public forum but it's greater than a year so that IF the Armageddonists among us turned out to be right we would have ample time to sort something out before hitting a chemical menopause.

The very real problem in this regard is of course getting stock with long enough expiry dates but with estrogen, at least, it is thankfully just possible.

My Dr prescribes three months at a time and checks on me each time I'm in for a renewal to see how I'm doing. No big deal for me as it gives me a chance to chat about other issues that I may have. She's a great Dr and besides it's nice to chat.

yeah that's a good point worth mentioning, for the first six months or so I was on shorter scripts.. it's only been recently that I've started receiving longer and doubles.
During the first 12 months of HRT it's so import to be more closely monitored with blood tests every six-twelve weeks
