ok so I discovered this film recently because my fav actress is Ellen Page and I finally had a look at the trailer..... I really don't know about this. I know I'm always overly critical of any film that has TG themes, especially when they portray the role as someone who is "Weird". hhmmmm I don't know... maybe I need to wait until I actually see the film before I comment



Thoughts? Interested? Ellen Page is almost too cute?

Right-oh, I saw this movie some time ago, didn't leave all that much of an impression. In fact: I have a hard time remembering the whole thing right now. I can tell you one thing though: there's really no TG theme to this movie.

eerrrr but doesn't he......like.................. crossdress? And lead a secret life? I mean isn't that what the plot is centred around?? :S
I SAW HIM IN THE TRAILER.....he was wearing a wig and a dress etc.... *may need to watch teh trtailer agsain 45rjkwehifhweifu* ...>____________<

Crossdressing (in this case a guy wearing womens clothing) is well crossdressing, it's right there in the trailer!!!
Crossdressing does fail under the transgender umbrella in my understanding of the word, maybe not in yours...so yeah perhaps more of a differing of points of view than a bubble popping me thinks ^__________^ ....


EDIT: actually just thinking about it..... so....... it's possible to crossdress but not be considered a crossdresser? then............... what would he be considered to be?? I mean just in case anyone I know see's it and is not confused enough already.

Yeah I had to think about my initial post on this one for a bit as well (the part where I go 'It's not TG related). Basically I think the difference between his crossdressing and the crossdressing of a crossdresser is the motivation. As in, in my view, someone who identifies as a crossdresser is crossdressing because there is a desire to do so (motivation) for whatever reason that may be; because it makes the individual feel at ease, because they enjoy to assume another role (although that's tip-toeing drag I think), because they like the way they look when crossdressing etc. The guy in the movie doesn't crossdress for any of the above reasons (he has no desire to), in fact, personality wise: he doesn't even crossdress since it's the other personality (the woman) who puts on the feminine clothes and not the masculine personality (the bloke)...

hhhmmmmm......aaahhmmmmmm........ I'm looking forward to actually seeing this movie so much more now.

I'm sure the guy that made the film was all like "no it's purely psychological no one is going to think he's a crossdresser it's cool", "look we'll explain it all in the plot just what the real deal is................. oh the trailer? Oh yeah whatever... it's just a trailer".
