he Supreme Court of Appeals has urged a lower court to recognize the new identity of a Turkish person who underwent a sex-change operation in Germany and became a woman, daily Radikal reported Sunday.

The high court made its decision after a verdict in a local Turkish court rejected the individual's demand for her new identity and name to be officially recognized in Turkey.
