...there is dancing and then there is jumping around like a sophisticated? no spasticated idiot... it's just not cool you know like jumping up and down is pogoing not dancing...etc ... so where is that line? Where does jumping around become dancing? At the point where you sustain a rhythm? That would mean you could fall in and out of both, "oh my god I've never seen such variation, she seems to be dancing one second and then the next she's jumping around like an idiot, this is ground breaking.. one of those rare moments in dance where we see witness the birth of something new. We are turning a corner in dance right here right now people!!". *comes off the dance floor* ..."well I f$%^ed that up didn't I".

Ok point taken there are no lines ...or are there! Well at least for some, it's a great excuse to be able to call all those things on the other side of that line that they erased "art".
All hail the artistic (open) license!!!! ^_______^
"we don't need lines man all they do is box us in, box us in to a corner with a bunch of things that are considered crap... we're not crap... we're art man!".

It's dancing when you, and everyone else in the room is drunk and or extremely tipsy. one sober person and your just seizing around on the dance floor/where ever you are. but I wouldn't ever classify club style/concert/mosh pit dancing as dancing. It's movement, it's entertaining, it can be fun, but it's not ballet, or break dancing, or anything else that requires talent.

If you're not in the band, stagediving from my stage gets you hurt pretty bad.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

oooooooooooooooooo now I just don't know. I want to class flailing around my room as dancing but even if I do deep down I'll know it's not really dancing. No matter how much I try and perfect it :P
laura that was more or less described in the OP, the judge saying it was so original and good that it turned a corner in the art of dancing, and me walking off the dance floor thinking I'd f$%^ed it up ^____^ not that I want to analyse it that much ^_____0

It seems to me that as the age grows on the dance floor, the less the movements work with the music. Eventually it just looks like a can of worms.
