I left school at 15 and 2 monthds and went into a factory working machines and  lifting heavy chunks of metal that made my developing body go chunky and its still chunky but careful choice of colours and styles makes it look OK.
both my bosses are quite overweight so I look good beside them.

I don't want to put a damper on anyone's ambitions, but this sort of thing can be incredably dangerous.

The rib cage expands to accommodate the organs it protects.

This sort of thing should never be considered for anyone much past their teens. That isn't to recommend it for teenagers. But past teens, and your bones and organs have more or less set.

Whatever you do, take it slowly. Don't try to tighten things too much. Gradual.

If you get any sort of discomfort, difficulities breathing, heart pumping, sickness or nausia, them loosen off quickly.

I somehow don't think the biggest problem will be the chest, it will be the shoulders.

Those are all good points which is why i tell people that pain is your body's way of telling your doing something wrong, if you feel discomfort, thats fine, your doing it right, however if you feel pain or your biology seems strange, then you got to loosen it up.  Its true that your organs have set, however, prolonged binding rearranges their position even bones.

It does work, just dont kill yourself over it, and yes shoulders are the biggest pain not chest, because a nice set of breasts will balance out your chest, but you need a nice set of hips to balance out the shoulders, and there is really no way to make your hips wider unless you eat a lot and gain weight.  The best thing to go for is balance, for me, size C breasts and a little bigger hips would balance my body nicely, right now i am between A and B.  For someone else depending on the frame it might be different.

32" underbust is quite normal for women. Why torture yourself for more.
I don't see tightlacing as torturing myself and I might not even need it if the I lose enough muscle on hrt.

I weigh less now than ever but my hips are lovely and rounded and I have had to move up two sizes in underwear and goodness knows what size jeans I'd need if ever I decided to wear any again.
All the doors in the building I work in have glass panels that are ver good mirrors and I quite enjoy seeing my shape as I walk around.
I'm 40B-30-39 I'm very restricted in exercising due to bad knee and ankle and I refuse to try swimming until I get rid of the bulge.

I did what you sad and used two belts and that helped me get a 29 inch waist and a 31inch underbust of course I'd have to keep doing it to keep it this way but it's a start.

Heh, well there is something to be said about genetics.  Usually, it doesnt work out that way since male bone structure is smaller in the hips, you have to make up for it with either a build up of muscle or fat, or a combination of both, you probably have good genes so the fat is hitting the right spots.  You should be happy.  For me, my hips are a little small but not too bad, they are popping out more and more every month, but my butt, legs, and waist make up for it.

Last time i checked i was 36(between A&B)-28-37, so i dont have a bad shape, but i am hoping to get 36Cx26x36 as my ideal.

Either I'm blessed or not... Currently I'm 37AA-31-40. I've always had wide hips, even if I compare other relatives, and I do seem to match up my aunt pretty close, and she's a C as far as I know. These measurement are 2 days old btw.

Shoulder-width is 17".

My goal is 36B-28-38. And as far as I can see, losing wight is enough for me at least.

Lucky as Hell.
Have Have little to no Ass and Tiny Hips. HRT has helped a lot but I'm Still Pretty rectangular.
My shoulders aren't that much of a problem.
I think if My Rib Cage were smaller Just a touch, it would make a huge difference

Those are the exact areas I'm most frustrated about too :/
Some days i like my small boobs but i don't think they are really proportionate to my body :/
same with my hips..

That's why i do feel if my rib cage were smaller it would REALLY help.
i ordered a corset BTW :)
SUPER excited :)

Dont go too crazy with it heh, just a little at a time at most 4 inches, but its really pain if you have to move around.

Ok sounds good to me
question, after a few inches are brought it, should i continue to wear it to maintain shape? or will it stay once inches are in?

well it depends.  To get your body to stick takes a long time, probably a year of wearing it most of the day, right now i just wear it when i go to sleep and seems to be ok, but even if i dont my shape still sticks around, i just do it out of caution mainly since i dont want to lose what i got.

Hello everyone!!!  sorry to join the conversation late. I found everyone's experiences helpful. I am looking forward to start weight loss and corseting.

IZUMI: May I ask you for one more favor? Could you please sum up in a paragraph or two the regimen you followed at the beginning of corseting/belting , how old were you? your detailed process? then length of time, hours per day, your current upkeep?

I did read the entire thread (everyones posts and your answers), and found you answer many of my questions, yet all are scattered.
Sorry if I'm a bother, it's just that i had never heard about this and thought corsets were not reliable and would not produce long lasting results.

Hearing from someone who has actually done it is very helpful. I hope it's possible, and truly believe this will be a great resource for all of us wanting to bring in our poky rib cages.

Age 32, 16+ hours a day when i started for the first year.  Now only when i go to bed, although i should do it longer.   Used Corset from fredricks of hollywood to do my waist, and belts below the breasts to do the ribs.  Corset was all day, belts came on at night or if i didnt plan on doing anything active, also combined this with diet and exercise.  (would take it off to exercise 1 hour)
