It's been killing me not telling my parents, so tonight I gave my dad my letter and as he started reading it I started crying and then he asked why I was crying and I said I was scared that he wouldn't care about me and I said sorry and he hugged me and said don't be sorry. He told me it's okay and that it's my life and he can't live it! He told me that I have to do what I have to do and all he wants is for me to be okay and able to support myself. I was crying half an hour earlier, so scared and now I'm on top of the moon. I'm so happy. I can't wait for my mom to come home, so I can tell her to. I never thought he'd be so understanding. He told me that he wouldn't even think of having me leave or anything. I have no idea why I was so scared but he was pretty much perfect. :D I'm so happy right now, and I know that any and all confusion I've felt was from stress of coming out. I know more than ever right now that I'm not a boy. I'm a ->-bleeped-<-ing girl and my dad knows. :D

I know! I was terrified that he would react badly but I couldn't wait any longer. My sisters helped me and they were there for me. :D Ahhh I never felt better.

Hi Andthenwekisss

Holy S..t, I'm totally flabbergasted at the response of your dad.  You could not get any better response than a hug from your dad. Which shows he cares for you very much.

Were your sisters present when you gave the letter to your dad and did your dad have any idea that you are a female?  It would be interesting to know.

You are racing through your change and it seems nothing is going to stop you from becoming who you want to be.  Take and all the best for the future.

Kind regards
Sarah B

I love it when parents react the proper way. Your post brought tears to my eyes. I am so happy for you.
With a suportive family transition is so much easier.

If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

You are an inspiration to every person who feels to be the wrong sex.  Congratulations.

omg you guys! you all make me feel so special haha! thank you!!! :D I never could've imagined my dad reacting this way, maybe my bestie was right. She said that since he accepted me being gay that this would be easier to accept. :P Maybe since I'm older too. I can't wait to tell my mom and now, I feel like I can tell my whole family! :D

@CindyJames my cousin is gonna try and get me hired at the pizza place she works at. I'm also going to stop by two places and ask about my application. :D

@Sarah B my sisters were there for me. I heard my dad say my mom might not come home for a few days and I started freaking out, not wanting to wait till she got home. I tried talking to my bestie but she was asleep so I was in my room and I called my sister in there and she calmed me down, I started crying when I started talking to her, and then I printed my letter and showed her and it was exactly what she told me to say. Then we got my younger sister and they went with me. My dad didn't say if he had any idea, but I kind of assume my parents knew/know.

And thanks you again to everyone else! I'm on cloud nine right now. I've never been so excited about something! I never thought this would happen. :D

Hi Andthenwekiss

Thank you for the update it was appreciated, it's nice to hear how things are going.  You have the right attitude, you know what you want and are prepared for the consequences.

You are extremely lucky that you have as you say your bestie, your sisters, who will protect and support you with their 'lives' figuratively and of course now your dad as well.  As llilacwoman said, 'You are an inspiration to every person who feels to be the wrong sex", I also agree with whole heartedly.

Let us know, what, when and how your parents found out.  It would be an interesting story.  Your mum will find out soon, so have a little patience and hopefully she will accept you unconditionally as well.

I have to go as I have to go to work.  The joys of living, take care and thank you for telling us your story.

Kind regards
Sarah B
