Well I've decided to go to a reunion... I used to work for Caldor... My ex (who I met while working there) organized a party for a whole bunch of our coworkers. It's been 11 or so years since I've seen any of them and, while many already know about me, I'm a little scared.
I almost didn't go... I'm really not the person they worked with anymore. I'm prepared to disappear if things don't go well. What I'm holding on to is that one of them wound up being a lesbian and leaving her husband for a woman... She's going with her partner so at least I know I have at least one ally.
Anyway, wish me luck and I'll let you know how it goes.

No pressure, eh?  :-\

I have occasional 'daymares' about being summoned to a reunion somewhere after transition. Since I'm still in touch with most of my friends from school, it usually ends up with me simply being the person no-one outside that group can remember. I guess that won't apply if you worked there for quite a while. :)

I guess the important thing is to know thyself: you're Jessica, you used to work there.. surely that's enough said!

I was just invited to a reunion of sorts, the invite was from someone I know via my dad.  I never came out to this person or group of people I used to associate with >25 years ago; I do not know if my dad said anything or not.  I'm guessing not.

So I just took the info and said thanks.  I will NOT be calling this guy, as these are people I don't really care to come out to at all.  While I have thought of rejoining said group as me, my current work and living situation precludes that.

Go if you want to; don't if you don't want to.

my town has an annual fair - used to be lots of cows and pigs and things but probly no farmers left now - but this year I and an old classmate are taking a pitch for a reunion and have made sure all our old schoolmates know about it and I'm quite looking forward to showing myself off.

I had such a good time!

I'm so glad I went.... There was only one who didn't really seem OK with me but the rest of my friends overshadowed her... Once again, I worried way too much about it and it turned out 1000 times better than I thought it would.
