So, I have another week left to have 3 weeks left til SRS after that which at the 3 week part, they require us to stop hormones + Anti-T etc.. for one.. personally, I will be really happy to ditch the drywall+spearmint pills. (Spiro)

I had sent my results to Montreal and everything is 100% and im ready to go..

So lately I started to get active again, actually ran around my local lake twice yesterday and once on Saturday. I can feel my calfs and quads and buttocks being worked out.

Ideally, I don't want to be underweight but I do want a nice tone.

My regimen are as follows,

Everyday, normal power walk around the lake, then another power walk for 5 mins, then 30 second run, 5 mins power walk, then 1 minute run and repeat from scratch.

Every Tuesday I go on a no carb liquid diet which means ill blend veggies together and consume that for the day. After on any other day I alternate between salads and strong meals (Steaks, Burgers etc..) to re balance my iron etc..

I actually lost 5lbs over the weekend by cleansing my body only.

Back in the past, I use to be that "Guy" with the perfect physique... I was envyed upon in school! The only problem i have with all of this is I have the type of body when I work out, my muscles develop really fast! I dont want to look like the incredible hulk but I want to be toned.. so I will be working my muscle groups in increments.

What also helps is I restarted my MMA classes which A) Helps me stay fit B) recenter my core breathing! I am so happy they have a coed class now and im allowed to compete with signed consent that guys are genetically stronger!

I also signed up for dance (October range) which will also keep my fit...

I do however understand that I wont be 100% mobile after SRS and will need to keep it easy which im ready, but I have exactly 1 month to get fit, toned, in perfect harmony!! That is a goal that is NOT impossible to achieve!

So, mark the day im 165lbs which I was 171, I will re-drop all the excess before SRS and float back near 138-145lbs which is my healthy body weight. Preggo belly BEGONE!

This is great inspiration! I'm currently trying to convince myself to give up chocolate and other related evil yummy foods in preparation! I want to be back at the park every second day no later than the 1st of sept doing pretty much the same thing, walk run, walk run etc.... I Think I'm currently around 155 and want to get down to about 140 as well! ;) ...though I have a good six months to allow for any relapses ..*is a complete sugar fiend*. >____<

once I finally got off that horrid spiro I discovered that it was having side effects on my body that I didn't even realize. If you're going off estrogen as well, in a couple weeks you may start having hot flashes which is the part I hated! Being off hormones 2 weeks after surgery also caused me to have night sweats which have gone away now that I'm back on my regular schedule. I was off my hormones for a few days short of 4 weeks but its a small price to pay. :)

You may lose some weight right after surgery, I did. Just be sure to eat plenty of high protein foods and take your vitamins! In the days after I got home I found myself very hungry more than usual, but it was just my body telling me I needed more nourishment to heal. This is major invasive surgery and we need to make sure we stay as healthy as possible. Dr. McGinn told me I had an excellent body type for this surgery, but I made sure I got plenty of the right foods, plenty of rest, plenty of fluids, and plenty of exercise. It sounds like you are doing exactly what you should! Best of luck hon ;)

You definitely want to be in your best physical shape prior to surgery.  It's gonna knock the wind out of your sails and it really helps to be in good physical shape to weather things.  So good for you!

The month will go by very fast.  Enjoy it!

I have my 2nd stage labiaplasty with Dr Meltzer end of August.... So am about to join you in the process of dumping HRT and any anti-coagulants too...

This includes all aspirin/ibuprofen based products, red wine, omega 3, vitamin E and anything else that might promote bleeding...

If you're a non-smoker then you be most blessed too (if not quit pronto)

When I went through with my original SRS back in 1992, I was on my feet within 6 days or so....but only for 15-20 mins max.... I walked around the hospital grounds only....

The biggest problem was getting my stomach/bowels back on line.... you will probably be on a drip-feed IV line for 5 days or so pot-op....as the vaginal pack needs to be in place while you heal internally... and passing a stool or any internal pressure a no go...

Yep an early morning pre-surgery enema Sara, one of the joys they won't inform you on!

The first real meal of a light toast and soup some week later... a tear inducing blissfully wonderful moment (real food) after the enforced diet...so loose weight you defo will...

And a month (fully back to normal) is a short timeframe.....

I was a fit bunny back then....(I still am now)....play club level tennis weekly..... but allow yourself 3-6 months realistically Sara for easy does it healing time....

Having gone through this all so well so far... work gently with your body don't rush it....

A proverb I like is this one....

One moment of patience may ward off great disaster.  One moment of impatience may ruin a whole life.

Very best of luck to you...

Hi Cloe. Did you stop taking supplements prior to your surgery?  If so, how long before?  What were you taking?

The worst was that I constantly had the sniffles and they never went away. It was dreadful. I was taking Claritin (a strong antihistamine) pills every day and that only barely made it tolerable. I was always afraid of having a drip running out my nose! lol As soon as I stopped the spiro the sniffles went away and haven't returned. I thought at first it was just allergies, but it persisted through all seasons of the year. I dunno, it might have something to do with spiro being an diuretic, but I'm sure it was the culprit.

Hi Cloe. Did you stop taking supplements prior to your surgery?  If so, how long before?  What were you taking?

Yes, I stopped taking everything 2 weeks before surgery, except for the spiro because Dr. McGinn specifically said that was okay. I take daily vitamins C, D, B6, a B complex multivitamin, zinc, iron, calcium, garlic tablets, flax seed, and a hair, skin, & nails multi that includes biotin. Also a baby aspirin every day. While I was healing I also drank lots of protein drinks like Ensure which really helped. I stopped all the vitamins and aspirin before surgery, but even in the hospital they gave me zinc and iron, maybe because I lost all that blood I'm not sure. It's really up to your doctor what you can take, but I was given a pre-surgery, alphabetical list of all the zillion things I wasn't supposed to ingest prior to my operation! :D

oh god I remember just being able to eat a single cracker after days on the IV was like heaven! Took me ten minutes lol

Wow! I never thought it might be the spiro. I started taking Zyrtec every morning along with my other pills to combat it.

I'm not sure why they make you stop taking AA blockers before SRS it dosen't make any sense to me.  I understand stopping E because of the clotting risk. but I don't know what the justification is for stopping your hormone blockers.

Hi Sara,

I can't believe its that close for you now, I remember when I was three weeks to go, panic, lol. Enjoy it if you can, the pain will be worth it and the rest you will need so get fir now, I did, I was running 6 miles every other day for two years and well worth being as fit as you can. I have however put 5kilograms on since my surgery four weeks ago because of doing nothing. I put weight on easily so hence the running. So I've given myself a diet and gradually its coming off again plus I've started walking a little with sticks as they allow me to go a little further.

All the best for your surgery
