I've been worried about this for weeks thinking my grandma had told him because he wasn't answering me. Turns out his phone was broken and he didn't know. God sorry I'm crying stupid estrogen and stupid tears making it hard to see. Wow where to start? Well he finally called me tonight. Started out the conversation asking if he had talked to grandma, found out he hadn't so I told him I had something big to tell him. Mind you I only talk to him once every few months if I'm lucky and have only seen him 12 times in the past 11 years. He lives up north with the women he cheated on my mom with (his wife now) and my brother and sister whom I love to death but have only seen maybe 10 times in the last 10 years. My bro & sis are both under 10. So I ask him if he knows what the word transgendered means. He says yes. I say well... Dad I'm trans (then have a minor panic attack but get it under control). He just asked me to explain and there was alot of Okays and Yeahs. At the end he invited me up to visit and stay with him and the family for a few days. I told him I'd think about it, then explained hormones and said I would be coming up there with facial hair and my voice deep and that I go by Alex. He just said we'd make it work and they wont care, that it wont bother him either, that they just want to see me. I guess after worrying for so long I'm relieved. Also got the news for sure today that me and my mom will be moving to a new state. :) My mom says once we move she will use all male pronouns and call me Alex. I've been dreaming of this day for 5 years... and it's finally come :D

*hugs* This is so great. I was very happy to read that. Wow, what a phone call. I mean, he obviously said all the right things.
You just go ahead and visit them and have a good time.

Wow. I'm really touched right now. Because, I mean... THIS is just what it's all about. Your child telling you something so huge that will not only affect his life, but also yours, and you just go like "Whoever you are, whoever you want to be, it's fine with me. I love you no matter what."
You are very lucky, Alex.
