I have been talking to my friends individually, telling them that I'm transitioning. I figured there are so many ppl i know that are just so hard to get ahold of so I created an event fb and invited everyone. In the description I put my confession and invited questions to be asked. Not many have responded yet but I'm pretty much out to the world. Some ppl are dumb tho and commented things like, sorry can't come, i'll be elsewhere. They must not have read the important part of the event, it says its to be celebrated not attended.

I also told my mom this morning. I couldn't believe how easily she accepted me and I started crying. All in all this has been the happiest week of my life.

Congratulations on doing it.  Not many people in my circles use fb so that approach would have been no use to me.
Have you sent a fb link to everyone on your email contacts lists?

Well done.

I have to admit I'm also a generation or seven away from fb. I have an account and never look at it. Your Mum is very special, enjoy being her new daughter and show it :-* :-*

That's great! I'm so glad your mother accepted you. Best of luck with transitioning and not catching any hate :)

I'll probably delete my acct when I come out, lol... I don't talk to many of my friends on there anyway. I have like 85 .. I might talk to 5 or so =/
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

Awesome, Coppélia.   It is always a blessing when family accepts us.  ;D

Congrats!
Having an accepting mom makes transition so much easier. Just knowing you have her support can lift your spirits and make the transition demons seem less scary.

If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Ha! I came out on Facebook too (family already knew), and the response from my friends was overwhelming.  :icon_cute:  I'm glad your experience was a positive one too.

I have to admit ... I've throught about doing the facebook thing after I've told my close friends/family ... it's easier and if people want to unfriend you ... well, they will.

It'd save me from the uncomfortable awkwardness of someone wanting to leave the area but not seem rude. :D
