Last night, I went to country buffet with a friend who was going to a family dinner thing.  Towards the end of our meal, a large group of girls (maybe 10 of them) came in.   I was sitting at the table, and when they walked in to their table, a lot of them kept looking at me.  Then as they were sitting there, I kept glancing over there and I almost always locked eyes with someone for a moment.  They just kept looking at me.  But as I was leaving, something happened to make me know for sure that they read me as a boy.  I walked by, I heard one of them actually gasp and I heard "It's a girl!" and I think all of them were whispering like oh my gosh.  I was so excited that I had been seen as a guy cause I wasn't really trying.  I am not out to anyone yet, and I don't have a binder (sadly, and my chest is what gave me away), that I was smiling and laughing as I left the buffet, cause I was seen as a guy!  So, yeah, I just really wanted to share that with someone.

Congrats on the pass Incertus! I went to a prep high school and used to always laugh at how the girls would do exactly that.

Aw that would devastate me if that happened.  I'm glad you have a good attitude about it.  Of course I am always trying to pass.

These days I confront people if they call me 'she' or 'ma'am'.  A few times I've been wrong however they have said 'man' and I heard 'ma'am'.   :P

I have mixed feelings about that sort of incident. but there's definitely something appealing about them. =)
as for the tell, have you tried layering? a couple compression sports bra's + a camisole/undershirt + t shirt + final shirt or some other combination can do wonders, as long as your chest isn't too big, which I'm guessing it's not. It's a little hot in the summer, but you get use to it pretty quickly.

Congrats - passing is always fun and a great way to boost your mood.

I passed twice the other day. I'm in a dog grooming academy and on my break i went to Borders. Had to ask for help finding something and another customer approached the employee that was helping me and said "when you're dong helping him, i need help..." and later on, in a pizza shop, a girl had to stop and double check the sign on the bathroom as i was coming out and she was going in.

I wasn't binding at that time (binder in the wash) but i wear a water proof over shirt (kind of like the material you see hair stylists wear) and it hides things up top pretty well.

Thanks guys!  I can understand being uncertain of how to feel about this kinda situation.  I think I was excited because I thought "I totally passed with that group of girls until they saw my chest.  While I hate that, that might mean that if I bind/make my chest flatter, then I could pass pretty well".  And that got me very excited.

And congrats FolkFanatic!
