A photo became popular in the internet here. It was taken on August 8, 2010, and it was in the beach where I usually exercise. The title of photo is 'T-panty girl' (here thong is called T-panty).

As it was not a bikini, it became a target of gossip. However, according to the some media reports, the more surprising fact was that nobody in the street gave any special attention to her.

Then, why to me??

OMG!

so funny, I wonder if she just forgot to put on her skirt or pants? Nice legs though.

I suspect everyone was being polite in not starting. You on the other hand are striking. Pass or not you are going to attract attention. :-*

Yesterday I heard that there is a bodybuilder guy who wears thong-like swimsuit everyday in the beach and shows off his tanned body.
I may look for a thong-like bikini fit to me. Next summer, I may try thong or bikini, or whatever in the beach.

During the peak day, 3 million people visited here, and 2 millons in the following weekend, according to the media.
The population of this city is just 4 millions, and I just wonder where those visiting people stay at night.

Anyway, the first typhoon this summer just passed here and went to northern Japan yesterday. It suddenly became like fall after having strong winds and heavy rains, and I think this summer is officially over.

Well, my first thought was that if a woman can walk around like that and not draw stares why should people here worry about hitting the streets as a 6' or more broad shouldered woman. I've always found that most people go about their own business most of the time, though that's an extreme example.

I've no doubt you could pull off the look, Barbie. Personally, I'd be a bit fearful about going out in public in a thong or bikini, though. That calls for really trusting your tucking skills.

Someone was obviously paying attention if the photo got taken!  :D
I suppose it was by the beach too, if she had been in the middle of Seoul with no large body of water nearby it might have been different

Just ago, I met my old friends and their family to have dinner and drink beer and chat together. I asked one male friend to take some photos for me in the street, but I stopped after taking the first photo, as I noticed too many passers-by paid attention to me. I commented that too many people pay attention to me today, and my friends replied that it is nothing new, asking me like "didn't you know that?". I just wore 4-inch heels.

Oh. I learned that I should refrain from wearing >3-inch heels.

Anyway, I had a happy time with my old friends and their wives. We chatted about health and beauty, and other stuffs.

I love the photo too!

I wish I were just a bit taller... I'm 5'8" so.... if you want to get rid of your 4" or 3" heels Barbie... ahem  ;D

Nice  ;D  ;D

I was doing a small work trip using train and had about same kind of clothes as on my avatar.
There were a lot of business people and teenagers on the train. I think nobody really cared what kind of clothes I had. Maybe couple of times someone looked me twice.

But then in one small shop a small girl about 8-10 years old whispered to her mother "that man wants to be a girl". I'm not so sure how I felt about it. Still a little bit confused about it as I want to have more androgyne style, but it ain't easy as I like skirts and feminine clothes :D :D

It would be enjoyable if some of people pay attention to me as in the photo. But, what if allmost all people do?

As I remember, more than 2 dozens, including some males, turned their heads back toward me in the front of me when the photo was taken. It certainly embarrassed me.

Here I guess passability is not a major issue. Even I did not clearly realize how tall I can look. But, still a few women here say I look pretty. I guess the adjective 'pretty' is usually for petite women, not for tall women. I feel it is fortunate that mostly young women, rather than aged men, pay attention to me, as I guess I am a kind of lesbian.

BTW I really love Barbie's photo here. I'd like to have one taken like that in China...maybe I should be careful what I wish for though.

I went out for the first time ever as Michelle on Monday night, a great experience. I was on a high for all of Tuesday. When I finally get up to the posting limit, I'll be able to show everyone what I looked like.

Walking along the streets I got one or two sidelong glances, but nothing compared to the stares I'd get in China every day. In the pub also no-one seemed to pay much attention either, even when I ordered drinks in my ordinary voice (it's not a very masculine voice, I must say). Does that mean I'm passing? It's not as if Canberra has a big drag scene or anything like that, or maybe people are just being polite? I wouldn't mind getting a bit of attention for looking nice.... (they don't have an emoticon for "wistful")

Another really cool thing was that I was able to get some great tips for nails and makeup from the GG's who come there, these were people at my table all knew who I was to start with, but I was really pleased to get the advice.

My next project is to alter my voice so I can feel more confident about talking to people.

Love it!

This girl is awesome, by the way.  I've always liked slender women.  I'd have noticed her, that's for darned sure!    ::)

Barbie:

Swimsuit?  Girl, go for the gusto and lose the swimsuit.  Somebody like you has the nerve to do it.

Okay, okay, ... sorry!  Maybe THIS is going too far!  Just a suggestion meant in good fun!    ;)

Two weeks ago, I stayed at Hamburg, Germany for a week. There was a festival celebrating the birthday of the port.

In Frankfurt, it was like a summer, and I just wore short pants when departing for Hamburg. And then arriving at Hamburg airport, it was terribly cold even it was early May (1 degree Celsius, nearly freezing temperature). All people wore winter clothes except me! Fortunately I wore nude stockings, warming up my legs a little bit. Anyway I could barely take a photo at that day.

There were a lot of tall women in Hamburg. Some women are taller than me. Still, people there paid attention to me. Probably because of my wearing short pants in a wintry day? From the next day, I wore long pants and winter jacket, but still people there studied me.

At a night, we took a night cruise in downtown area including a red-light street. German people there were so kind to me, and nearly every night I ate fish dinner with white wine or beer. I love German beers! It was like I am staying at my hometown. Very safe, clear air, a lot of parks, water, beer, and fish. Some photos at Hamburg:

And the location map: http://runkeeper.com/user/201099298/activity/33886822 (you shoud zoom-out to see the map, as I did use roaming service.) I did run nearly every day, but I could not use runkeeper as wi-fi service was not free there.

You are certainly more tolerant of the cold than I am and you wearing shorts in that kind of temperature would have my attention as long as I could focus through the shivers you would be giving me.  LOL

Barbie ; I think you get stares/looks because of your exotic look.   The pics I have seen on here you look very feminine and quite passable.  But even here tall women get looks, double takes etc.

The pic with the three girls looking at you seemed more like "omg she's tall!' Rather than "omg she's a guy!"

Just my observation  :-)

You should move to Minnesota. There are lots of girls here taller than I am.
