just wondering , because i've always had shortness of breath episodes and it happens to be almost exclusively when my dysphoria gets at it's peak , also (most of the times) when i'm laying or getting ready to sleep (which also happens to be the times where dysphoric feelings "if any" are amplified)
when it happens it's like i can breath but i'm not getting enough oxygen so sometimes even if i was tired i can't sleep for hours, and i have to take deep breath and hold for a while and somehow this makes me feel better.
i went to a GP , did some blood work and nothing , he then referred me to a specialist, i was suspecting that it was sleep apnea but he told me it wasn't because it happens almost only when i'm awake , and it's not like something blocking the air (i'm a very silent sleeper btw) but rather feels like.. the air doesn't contain enough oxygen , or my lungs don't want to work . although i remember two or three times i woke up gasping for air after thinking that i wasn't breathing , like the airway was open but the lungs muscle wasn't moving
could it be because i used to smoke ? but i quit like 2 years ago ,besides these bad days have been happening even before i started smoking
or could it be because i hold my breath a lot so my lungs some how used to "not working"?
arrgh it's a mystery , maybe it's some kind of delusions that are stimulated by feeling generally uncomfortable
but anyway , anyone ever had shortness of breath that were somehow related to dysphoria?
