Besides location, what are the differences between Brownstein & Garramone's work/results?
For DI.

Im nearer Brownstein, so I was just wondering your guy's thoughts/opinions/pros/cons on each.

Thanks.

I went to Dr. Brownstein, though Dr. Garramone was on my list.  For me it turned out if I had to travel and stay in a hotel, I might as well make a vacation out of it.  And since I'd never been to San Francisco, I went there.  Dr. Garramone does have an excellent reputation for doing a great job with heavier guys.

I was heavier when I had my surgery, and while I loved my flat chest I hated the scars and 'boxiness' of my chest.  Now that I am normal weight, I love my chest, except for the scars.  The scars are fading, but it takes my scars a few years to fade, from experience.

I know Dr. Brownstein does internet consults (ie you contact him, then he'll ask for pictures).  I think Dr. Garramone does the same.

The biggest difference I see between Dr. B and Dr. G's work is the scars. Personally I like the scar placement of G's work, however his scars tend to look bigger and more jagged than B's work. So it came down to, do I want to have more noticeable scars but placed where I would prefer or less noticeable scars that might not be placed where I like but would become more faded after a few years time. Dr. B won out after seeing several of his results and especially what they look like after a few years of healing.

Edit: FYI, this is just in the decision of who I want to go to for top surgery. I have not contacted Dr. B so I have no personal experience on the actual surgery.

Go to transbucket and look for yourself.  Remember, your results will depend on YOUR body at the time of surgery.

Thanks guys.
Yeah, the only thing I've noticed is how the scars fade more with Brownstein. Though I haven't been able to see many pictures/videos of his work. Just tons of Garramone's.
Also, idk if this was an opinion or not.. But I heard somewhere that Brownstein's nipples look more natural and Garramone's look like slabs.

Jay,
I've tried accessing transbucket, but I cannot see the photos.

You make a user name and password, log in, and at the top click search galleries.  Put in Brownstein or Garramone, then click double incision with nipple grafts (doctors and surgeries are in drop down boxes) then click search.

Most pics tend to be within a few months postop; a few are from >1yr.

You have to register with transbucket to see the photos.

There are alot of vids of guys who've gone to brownstein on youtube. You can also see some results at brownstein's site- http://www.brownsteinmd.com/results.html

Brownstein's scars are often better but I think he always puts the nipples too high to look natural.

Ok so i haven't seen many pictures of brownstiens results after top surgery....they are hard to find but i always wanted to go with Dr. G ..(finally
was able to do so a month ago) i'm not the smallest guy so I knew that Dr. G would make my chest look more natural and what made me decide to go
with him was the lack of dog ears on most of his results.  I loved Dr. G and am very happy with my results.  I also heard that Brownstien is much more
expensive.  I had a great vacation in florida as well.  although I didn't find much to do in Ft. Lauderdale, my family and i ended up going to orlando (3 1/2
hrs away from ft. lauderdale) following my surgery and had a great time.

I did register but I think you need flash and I don't have a personal computer.

Thanks again guys.

Agent,
I was leaning more towards Garramone because he's so popular and well known, which equals more practice.

Can't comment on Garamone, but 5 years post surgery with Brownstein, I'm happy. I've read some of the comments on Brownstein's nipple placement and I happened to be watching a movie with Leonardo DiCaprio in it last night and noticed his nipples are about where mine are. Also, Brownstein does ask you if you have a preference where they're placed. I left it up to him. The scars are right under my pecs and are pretty unnoticeable, except if I'm really pale in the winter. It was expensive, but I figured I'm only getting this done once.

I narrowed my DI choices down to Brownstein and Garamone as well. Ultimately I went with Brownstein because of his location. I think he did a really good job with my nipple placement. My scars are long, but my breasts were huge.

I therefore only have experience with Brownstein but it was a really great experience. His office was always prompt and ready to answer any question I had, and he was open to my questions and concerns. The hospital staff was also excellent and caring. I could not have asked for better care.

Thanks for the info.
I don't think I rly care about nipple placement, I think scarring is more important to me.
But those are my two main choices.
I think in the end, total cost would probably make it.

PM me if you want to see my results.  I have pics with scars and where I've photoshopped them out so you can focus on nipples and not scars.

This is very important when you're talking about nipple placement. I think often when it looks like the nipples are placed too high is because the scar is lower on the chest and makes it look like the pecs are longer, when in fact they aren't. I always follow the muscle definition when looking at top surgery results. Sometimes the scar lines up perfectly and others it doesn't so you really gotta look closely when you're trying to figure out placement and all that.
