You would find me immensely boring. I buy all pants only 2 colors, black or blue, a rare exception for brown. Shirts are easy to access, a few in white, blue, black and one in red and one in green for variety. T shirts are in the same colors. I have  the perect mis and match wardrobe. What ever pants you grab will 'match' what ever shirt you grab. No fussing over what scks to wear because they are all white knee high work socks, belt problem is easy, only one belt, black on oneside and brown on the other.

Ties are a whole nother ball game. I go for flash and  pinache there. Flames an bright colors as well as power ties and even boring black for those somber  occasions.

Shoes are easy, all black, one tennis, one work boots and one pair slippers.


It isn't boring so much as uncomplicating my life since I have no sense of style.

i don't think of them as boring. i mostly think of them as traumatic. at this point, i don't think i could even get through a day dressed in a full outfit of any kind of men's clothing without having a nervous breakdown, and shame for myself. there's lots of mtf that are just like "oh, i have to dress as a guy. how boring." to me, that's more like "i have to dress as a guy, have mercy on my soul, and kill me now." but, i think it's more interesting to hear an ftm bring this up.

I don't find men's clothing boring at all. If anything, I've felt so much more freedom to wear colors other than black once I started dressing male-only. I have some really beautiful shirts in a variety of fabrics and colors. Ones that fit, mind you, and aren't blobby or tentlike. I'd have a lot more shoes than I do now (and I have a decent number of pairs) if I could afford it. I'm constantly finding interesting and beautiful men's/unisex shoes.

Also, it's so much easier for me to find clothing that actually fits now. Women's clothing was so body-shaming and ill-fitting for someone of my height and muscle development (not to mention the 15-20 lbs of fat that need to go away). The 'tall' women's selections were way more stifling and boring than anything available to me now.

I'm even more boring when it comes to clothes than guys' clothes are anyway, so I don't mind them being boring.

When I find clothes or shoes I like, I always buy at least two of them so I don't need to look for clothes and shoes so often. I was always like that with clothes. I only know of one other person who does this too - the mad scientist in David Cronenberg's "The Fly", he has one set of identical suits for each day of the week. Might be me in 10 years, but I hope I won't transition to a fly then.

Skinny jeans and I don't mix - they make my legs look huuuuuge. But I manage to keep some flair going thanks to BKE. I've got a sweet pair of BKE Carters that have some great white accents.

Buckle's expensive, but they've got great sales every once in a while. I've gotten $75 jeans for $13.

Hey thanks!  I'm so vain.  lol  Yes I'm 5'10" actually.  It does help a lot.

Squirrel, FWIW I don't have a suit yet, either.  I do have some dress shirts and ties, but no real dress pants.

The word is you should wait until you've been on T for a while, because your shoulders will broaden and your shape will change, and if you buy a suit now it won't fit in a few months to a year.

I'm waiting until I have a good occasion to buy a suit.  It's not something I have need for every day.

Personally I like guy clothes.  The fabrics are sturdier, sizes more uniform, and they're not fussy.  Women's clothes never fit me right, sizes never made sense (I could be a small in one shirt and have an XL be too tight in another).  And since I never had an hourglass shape, women's pants never fit right.  Too tight in the waist, or if the waist fit, then too baggy in the crotch and butt.  (until low rise pants came back).  I'd always have a panic attack when I had to shop for clothes.  Too many choices, hideous fabrics, hideous prints, fussy, frilly, shiny....  ::shudder::

Now, see that's an outfit I'd actually wear. The one you put the link for Squirrel...thanks for showing that. See, this is why I like you younger guys, give us old fogey's some different options hehe...It's kinda funny though, it almost meets a style I used to wear in the 80's...the vests were a big thing back then.

P.S. Signatures aren't working and I think images are broken too? Unless it's just me. I haven't been able to see one image in a post today

I love men's clothes. The fabric is higher quality, they're more comfortable, warmer in winter and cooler in summer, sturdier, and the colours generally go well together. And I don't find them boring at all. Simple, sure, but that's a good thing - lets the subtle variation shine through.

I like men's clothing choices, as everyone else pretty much said the fabric is just a lot better made and the clothes are more functional overall for the season you bought it for. I have seen plenty of guys wear really bright interesting colors, so much in fact sometimes I have trouble finding "normal" dull colors that I like in stores that are pretty popular.

I have a pieced together suit, I have 2 pairs of dress pants, 1 black, 1 grey, numerous button downs and a black blazer but no formal suit. And i waited to buy the blazer until i was at least 6 months on T.

fun thread. I definitely enjoyed reading through the responses. and I'm another one who enjoys "boring" clothes. I've been wearing the same 5 or 6 pairs of khaki shorts for about 5 years. the shades are all a little bit different though, and that's good enough variety for me. and I really only have 3 pairs of shoes in my active wardrobe at any given time. white sneakers, brown boots, and brown sandals.
I do appreciate exotic clothing though. my sister has quite a collection, and she always looks great, but I don't really want it on me.

You should see my purple socks. And I have a lot of cool ties that I haven't worn in years...

I guess I'd be considered boring, because I love men's clothes.  All of my jeans look pretty much the same: blue.  Most of my T-shirts are from Walmart, and most are black or dark colored.  The other ones are school issued ones for school groups.  I've been wearing the same jeans and T-shirts for 6 years now.  I also love the look of a black suit and tie.  I don't think it's boring, I think it's classy.

I just go to Hot Topic when I can and I generaly find some t shirts priced fairly cheap actually more like affordable their pants well that's more like 30 bucks or better and you'll be lucky to find any cheaper pants marked down more than that. I don't really care for wal-marts clothes in the mens department every once in while I'll find a t shirt I like. So I just basically tend to wear gender nuetral clothes minus the times when I wear female clothes for when I'm in the mood to present as female heh what can I say I'm a little girlie at times it depends on how I feel heh. The best thing I can tell you is just shop around and see if you find anything you like and can afford sorry I think that's all the help I can offer.
