So I've been wondering. I am hopefully getting top surgery only 2 months after I start T. It will be keyhole/periareolar which I've heard is better when you're not on T of any sort. Will the 2 months be enough time to do anything to my chest at all that would effect the surgery? I know I need to ween myself off T a month before the surgery to prevent hematomas. Is it worth starting T before the surgery then? Or should I just wait? I'm mainly concerned about it creating complications for the surgery.....but like any of us is super eager to start

I'm really skeptical about how necessary it really is to go off of T for surgery.

My surgeon (Dr. Medalie of Ohio) didn't require that I go off of T prior to surgery.  I was on T for 1 year at the time of surgery.  I had a peri and had no problems with hematomas or any other complication.  If anything, T reduced the amount of fat tissue in my chest and may have made the surgery somewhat easier since less tissue needed to be removed via liposuction.

I agree with the 2 guys above me, I'm skeptical of needing to go off T for surgery.  I didn't and had no complications.

Anyway I don't think that 2 months of T would change your chest that much.  Also if you have been binding then the tissue has probably changed a bit already anyway, so adding T shouldn't be a huge deal.
