I haven't started this semester's classes yet, but I have moved into the dorms. one of my roommates had a friend over and she introduced me as *male name*. her friend had to do a double take that went something like "*male name*?" my roommate gave an affirmative and than he (the friend) said "just making sure I heard that right." after that it was no big deal. Although i have since learned that the friend is a member of the queer community (gay), it felt good that people are accepting and my roommates will use my male name.
As for classes.... I haven't been able to afford a binder and classes start in less than 36 hours, so I'll just avoid confrontation, as usual. unfortunately most of my classes this semester aren't in big lecture halls, which means i'll have to interact with other students and/or professors. but as long as i introduce myself i'll be fine. although i haven't come up with the courage to ask for male pronouns. as i said, i avoid confrontation.
