Hi there,

Yesterday I was out with my mum and we were talking. I've fully transitioned now over about three years. Anyway I began to speak about laying some ghosts to rest from my past and I'd like to go back to the place where I went on holiday with my parents as a boy from ages 7 to 14. It was a regular annual holiday. Anyway my mum asked why and I said it was because I was a boy and I wanted to go back as I am a girl and she turned around and said, "don''t be silly," And I said, "why" and she said (you weren't a boy) She really had forgotten that I was a boy back then. She just sees me, really sees me.

I'm sure that made you smile! It would've made me smile big and my heart would've rushed with love.

But that's just me and I can be way too emotional, lol.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

Hi Angela, yes I am but not until next summer, I'm only six weeks post op and its a 2,000 mile trip there and the same back. My dad drove all the way (with stops of course) and I want to do the same. So I have to be up to driving that distance again. Gives me plenty of time to plan  though, hehe. I may even take mum and dad as they haven't been there for years as well. I know it will be an emotional journey because even when I think about it I cry. Crazy what memories do to you, its the last ghost.

Thanks for sharing, Stardust.  :D

I wish my folks were alive to see their daughter grow.

Really nice to hear your mum is so accepting of you.  It sounds like something my mum would say as well.

If my mom said that, she would have gotten the biggest hug I ever gave anyone :)  That's wonderful!

My mum was like that too, and thanks to her almost all of my immediate family were too. Mums like that are worth their weight in gold really.

I'm pleased you had a happy moment like that.

Thanks all, yeah, it still makes me smile. Took them for a meal out yesterday cause they are both really supportive. The only one's really from my past. Its great to have someone who loves you unconditionally.

Your mom is so wonderful... That surely was a very emotional moment when she said that. I could cry even when not being there :)

Can't wait to come out to my mom. She KNOWS, I'm so sure she knows. That would be the first honest discussion we'll ever have had :) Hope we both live that day.
