Ok so I haven't legally changed my name yet, just going by my prefered name, but I should be graduating with my a.a by the end of the summer.

My question is, if anyone knows, if for some reason I can't get my name legally changed by the time I get my a.a, and my birth name is on it, will that affect transferring to a university after my name gets legally changed? If that makes any sense lol

And sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I did not get my name changed until after I graduated, but then I went back to my college and provided them with the documentation.  They changed my name in the system, printed me out new transcripts, and I even was able to have my diploma changed.  Dunno if that was what you were looking for?

So I think if you are going to transfer and you get your named changed as long as you let your former school know they will change all the info for you.

Exactly what I was looking for. So that means even if my name is changed after I graduate but before I transfer, I could just have that school change all my information before I present it to the new university? I just have to work on getting my name changed before I graduate to save some hassel, since I plan on getting top surgery before I transfer

Thanks!

Exactly.  When you get your name changed (at least for me in PA) I was given a decree by the judge that was signed and notarized.  I went to the registrar and gave them that paper and they changed it all for me right there.  It was a great feeling to get it changed :)
