OK so I have been presenting female for well over a year now, hair, make-up, nails and mostly girl clothes, flowered low cut tops, jeans, shorts and a few skirts. I carry a purse, always in heels, I go by Cyndi and my C cup breast are always upfront and obvious :-) and my family has been very supportive. So last friday, I swing by my cousins house, I have a few minutes to kill before a girlfriend and I go clubbing, she lives like a block away and my cousins grip I never stop by Soooo.... I have on my LBD I cousin Deb ask are you sure it's OK for you to go out like this, OH ya we do it all the time. OK so Sunday dinner is at moms and I had found this rather cute but plain cotton sundress and seeing how it's been hot I didn't have on any other top just the dress, it has the elastic across the breast and little thin straps over the shoulders, you get the picture right...

Well Cousin Deb and few others about had a come apart, how can you go out looking like that and on and on... I didn't know what to do and I just started crying and ran to the bathroom (46 year old woman burst out in tears go figure, hormones LOL), and so moms being moms comes knocking on the door and she says well if you didn't look so, SO WHAT MOM?? LIKE A WOMAN?? HELLO I'M A WOMAN NOW!!!! ALWAYS HAVE BEEN NOW IT JUST SHOWS. the whole time I'm point to my breast. So mom says it's the dress.

WTF.................... totally confused but still happy :)

I didn't back down, mom musta gave the look cause nothing else was said, dinner was cordial and I haven't seen the family sense............

They sound like they were being bitches to be honest.

Now that it's happened once you know how you will react. Can you develop a different reaction?

I really feel for you though.

Cyndi,

I don't know you went full time.  Way cool.  As the ones that were coming apart, they probably loved the dress and were just jealous.

Well ya I just slowly started being more ME except at work and the next thing I knew I AM I :) actually at first my family thought I was gay LOL make-up, hair was kinda questionable but as my breast developed well that sorta changed things ;)

Dont be mad your mom was honest on how you look.  We have a vision in our heads that some dresses look good when they really dont.  Every body is different.  Not all dresses fit right on everyone, that goes for GG women to.  The same dress on different women will look completely different, seriously, its how it falls in places, how it accentuates some features and diminishes others.  You want to pick out clothing that goes well with your body, accentuating the good stuff and minimizing the bad.  Certain cuts dont work with me others do.  Thats why it takes so long to shop for stuff, you have to try on everything.  Eventually you get used to it and find "Your Style" you recognize the qualities in the clothing that look good on you.  For me wide straps on tops draw too much attention to my shoulders, however spaghetti straps or no straps or straps going in a V from the bust around my neck totally look great.  If my top has a U cut, i dont look good, a V i do, and just straight across i do.  See what i mean~  So your mom may look at you in the dress and go... yeah this doesnt work.  i put plenty of dresses back that met all my criteria but just didnt FALL in the right places.

dont be too hard on her.  GG women dont let their friends /  family buy ugly dresses.

That's very sweet of you but I don't think that was it, I have difficulty putting things into words sometimes... The issue was me in a dress, it could have been a potato sack with head and arm holes it was me in a dress, so having said that, and a few days have passed, while at wal-mart who might I see??? and what am I wearing yes a dress a different one but a dress that I wore to church pink with flowers and long very conservative looking and cousin Deb in the cereal isle LOL you would have thought she ran into a brick wall for as fast as she bee lined it outa there....

No one at church, well the few people I talked to said how nice I looked but that's just normal being nice stuff or anywhere else gave me a second look, which is a good thing ;) so without knowing my past me in a dress is just another woman but the family freeqs out with it..... OH well I thought it was going good, no biggy moving on............
