When I first decided to transition, facial hair was the last thing on my mind.  And then I thought, great I don't have to shave my legs!!  But then, Oh no, I have to shave my face!!  At that moment the thought of growing facial hair was ehhhh....

But then I've always liked facial hair on men, in the form of neatly trimmed/closely cropped beards, so of course as soon as I could grow some i did.  I trim it weekly with a beard trimmer, do shave my neck to neaten the lower edge.

It's coming in slowly.  Fairly decent but there are places that need to fill in (IMO).

I have a fuzzy downy covering from my chin up to my cheek bones and under my nose.  It's there and I can feel it but it's so thin and light that it really can't be seen unless you are in the right kind of light and really, really close.

I don't think I would ever want a full beard but something like what Orlando has here wouldn't be so bad.

Facial hair isn't important to me but I do want some because I love it  :D

I can't wait to grow facial hair, its number one on my priority list :D

My facial hair is coming in quite slowly but I am steadily getting more and more. I probably have more than I think but the longest I go without shaving at the moment is about 4 days. It's mostly around my sideburns and chin. I'm not too concerned about how much of it I have currently, since my dad has very thick and fast growing facial hair. I seem to be turning into a younger version of him so I'm hopeful that I'll get the same.

I will grow some sort of beard when I have anything decent to grow.

My moustache is come along nicely. God knows why the people who 'she' me think a woman would walk around with a tache like mine but hey ho. I have quite a lot of chin hair already but nothing uber bristly yet.

As I'm balding quite quickly I fully intend to rock the goatee look to compensate  ;D

How is hair growth inherited btw? A quick search on google just told me how hair loss is inherited; what i mean is from the father/ mother side?

Genetics ... and I believe most people just look at the males in the family to see how it works.

I LOVE my facial hair.  My sideburns are the love of my life.  I wish I had even more, but much of that has to do with my weird facial hair growth pattern.  I have never actually seen it fully grown since I never let it go for more than a week without shaving (except for the sideburns, those are permanent), but judging from one week of growth, it would look a lot like this badly done picture that I just made in Paint:

The sideburns, cheeks and bottom of the chin have thick, fast-growning coverage.  The mustache grows a bit thinner and slower.  The top part of my chin is bare with the exception of a tiny patch that grows under my lower lip with the same speed and thickness as my mustache.  I think if I let it grow fully that I would look rather monkeyish :o  I am pretty certain that it will fill in soon since my father had an epic beard when he first came to the U.S. in his mid twenties (though sadly he shaved it shortly after).

I was thinking more Wolverine, from X-Men.

Yeah, most women would shave or wax or something.  I used to hate it when at work a client (a woman) would come in with a better stache than mine.  It's still on the wimpy side but getting there!

I desperately want sideburns. I'm indifferent to any other facial hair. Maybe a chin scruff option would be okay, too, but I can take or leave that. Unfortunately, at the moment, my whiskers are all under my chin/jaw where they are useless.

You are absolutely correct!  I should have posted a pic of that guy and I would have saved myself the embarrassment of that awful Paint job too.

I am on T and  some facial hair has begun to grow in [chin scruff and a bit of a moustache.]  It does get to the point where its noticeable enough that it needs to be shaved, but I always put it off as long as I can because while I have *knockonwood* never experienced any problems with acne I tend to develop not-so-flattering blemishes after shaving.

As far as actually having a beard I could really go either way on it.  Not going to lie, I have pondered growing a beard[probably framing my jaw line and then longer at the chin billy goat style] and long enough to bleach the tip of and dye it blue.  Thats a tad bit of a far off dream at the moment though.  What I'm really impatient for are some damn sideburns already.  I'm not talking porkchops or anything, but I'd like it if I didn't have a clear lack of any hint of hair growing beyond the top of my ear [peach fuzz not included.]
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Yep i am currently obsessed with growing facial hair. i'm a year on T and am starting to get blonde stubble, but probably still have a long way to go. sooo frustrating! I'd love some sideburns! if my facial hair was darker you would definately see it on my chin but alas.

I'm not on T but I get thick hairs, some dark and some blond on my chin, can't stop stroking them lol.

Nxdraconis, that paint image reminded me a bit of my father, actually. I like my father; it'd be cool to look a bit more like him. Everyone keeps telling me how much I look like my mother...

Facial hair is not something I want.  I'd definitely always be clean shaven, as I just don't care for the un-shaven look.  I guess it could be fun to grow out a funny mustache or goatee for Halloween or something, but other than that I'd be perfectly happy to never grow any and not have to add the extra chore of shaving.

I've seen reports of some lesbians delighting in facial hair from natural results not T, perhaps from PCOS like the partner of one of women I meet on committee work who has black head hair and so has quite visible moustache and sideburns but nothing on her chin or jaw line.

I can't wait until I can grow a lot of facial hair.  I have some but if I let it grow it just looks stupid because there's not enough so I shave every other day usually.  I'm letting my sideburns grow and those look ok but still not nearly as thick as I'd hoped they would be by 16 months on T  :( Trying to be patient but yeah, facial hair is very important to me.

I've got the exact same facial hair pattern as you, noxdraconis.  It's something I haven't seen on any of the biomales I know.  Oh well, I guess no handlebar mustache for me...
