Suck or not, I'm going to do EXACLTY what my surgeons tell me to do, to the letter.

I have a BA in two months and SRS in just a little over 5 months.

This ain't nothin to play with girls.  It's major surgery.  I don't want to die of a blood clot just because I want to be a defiant bitch and defy the rules, as I have all my life.  The time for games is passed.

Whatever they tell me to do, I am going to do it.

Of course, follow the doc's recommendations.. all you can do at this point is bitch like I am doing lol.

Lost in translation...

I forgot the 'P' word has different connotations over there in the US so I apologise for that one....

But being totally solo Dee will have plus and minus points....while in the Greenbaum unit the nurses there were great for me, but I was only in there one night on Tues...

And now I'm on my own and my swelling has got progressively worse as its two days on Thurs...(but I'm assured this is normal)....however it does unsettle you....and tests your resolve/nerves to battle on through....

So legs up and ice-packs constantly on the deal for me at the mo.... apart from essential water/coffee/food breaks...otherwise back to bed...

And thanks to Walgreen's I now have a mild sedative on the way which should take the worst edge off tonight...

But the plus point (of being solo) is at least no one else has to suffer watching you have a tough go of it.... which means the pressure in that sense is off you...

However on balance a friendly face for sometime of the day is a huge plus.... so makes sure you do get some back up, please....

And sorry about the loss of yer BFF, tough call....

Take care ma dear....

For everyone reading this.  Stop now and read the above quote.  Now read it two more times, slowly.  Memorize it.

Do NOT F*** AROUND with doctor's orders

Don't self-medicate, and disclose everything you are taking to your physicians and surgeons.  Blood clots and other complications are not uncommon, life threatening and not a thing to scoff at.   Surgery's going to be difficult enough without adding to your risk / pain.

Having already had a DVT in each of my legs from inactivity during long airplane trips (and genetic propensity for it), this is definitely something I worry about all the time.  We shouldn't have to lose perfectly healthy girls to stupid mistakes like this.  Life for us is tough enough as it is.
