Hi Claire,

I take Estrogen and progesterone.  But follow what your doctor recommends.  Some doctor issue pills, some patches and some injectables.

But also please remeber Rule 8:
Quote8. The discussion of hormone replacement therapy(HRT) and it's medications are permitted, with the following limitations:

A. Advocating for or against a specific medication or combinations of medications for personal gain is strictly prohibited.
B. Discussing the means to acquire HRT medications without a prescription, and self medication without a doctors care is prohibited.
C. Discussing dosages is strongly discouraged to prevent information obtained on this site from being used to self medicate.

We can not in good conscience condone the self administering of these medications. Not only may self medication be illegal, but HRT medications can cause serious health problems, and many have the potential for life-threatening side effects that can only be detected and prevented with proper medical supervision.

You know if you intend to rewrite your biochemistry from male to female it's a forever deal. FOREVER until you die and if your young that's a sentence of 50 years or so.
  •

clairezoey

forever sucks...if we takes hormones consistenly for 1.5 years, then stop it, our body and face will revert to normal man mode?
  •

Cruelladeville

Its all a tad more complex than that...if you go through with SRS, then you loose key gonadal hormones... important for your long-term physical well being....

If I were to come off estrogens permanently, (I'm off it now).... and feeling the effects I can assure you....lol But will be back on thankfully in a few weeks time....

But yep I could then expect hair loss, lack of girly bloom and maybe more worrying problems such as osteoporosis to develop....

1: If you take Estrogen and Testosterone blockers for 1.5 years then stop while you still have your male genitals intact your testis will begin to revert back to it's male biochemistry your fat would be replaces with muscle in masculine features again body hair would regrow and probably facial hair will regrow if your young, Depending on your genetics you may also suffer male pattern baldness  You would retain your breasts however fat would be lost from them giving them an unusual shape. It's highly probable (80%+) that at this stage you will be irreversibly sterile.

2: You can normally stop taking The Testosterone blockers after Genital surgery Either Orchidectomy or Sex Reassignment. As your Testis are removed your body has no means to manufacture it's own male hormones Thus whatever T-blocker you have is unneeded usually you WILL be sterile after either procedure that's a given.
However if you stop taking your estrogen after this point Your bones will begin to progressively De-calcify at a rate of 5% per year After 8 years or so you will have full Osteoporosis with very brittle bones and severe muscle weakness to the point that any trip or fall could put you in the hospital.

wow..thats really scary.......

really2 scary.....coz i will never cut my penis..........

so its really consumps a lot of money if we eat estrogen pills and T-blocker forever.....for 50 years at least...

so my question.........

how much t-blocker and estrogens hormons cost per month???? in US Dolar wil do
  •

Sarah Louise

What it costs in US Dollars will be different than you will pay in your country.

The best thing for you to do is see a doctor, they can tell you all the information you need.

Check with a local pharmacy, ask them what they charge for the hormones.
Nameless here for evermore!;  Merely this, and nothing more;
Tis the wind and nothing more!;  Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore!!"

hard to get a doctor coz im still in boy mode and still undercover mode..

You sound like you were expecting to buy hormones just as you would a bunch of dresses or a wig... I would like to re-iterate the serious tone Pebbles has here. You can't alter your body chemistry this way without real regime.

Your first step really should be to see a doctor or therapist; seeing one in 'boy mode' shouldn't faze them one bit, because they will know you're seeking to change your gender. :) If it's awkward for you to be in boy mode there, go as a girl. Sadly you have to seek help and face the world either as your current, (presumably) uncomfortable self, or as someone new.

clairezoey

im planning on dressing in boy mode and acting like a boy mode until my face was 100% be a women............................................

maybe after a year of HRT, if still looks not so good, i will go to FFS....

and after complete be a women, at that time only i will be 100% women mode..

will doctor entertain us if we go while in boy mode? i dont want to dress like a girl now because it will looks ugly...
  •

Karla

Hi Claire, I don't think the doctor will hold it against you if you go in boy mode in the beginning.

I also understand not wanting to go out in girl mode until you 100% pass, but the more you pass and the more your confidence grows you will find that you are comfortable going out if you pass enough.

And passing cannot be put in numbers.. to one person you're maybe 100% to another you're 60% at the same time. ::)

Claire, I cannot help but notice that in all your posts you seem completely obsessed and focused on appearance only. If you intend to wait on going full time until you "look 100% female" you could very well be waiting a very very long time, depending on what you're perception of 100% female is, and your bodies reaction to hormones. I think instead of focusing on how pretty you might become, you might want to focus on the more real and life-changing aspects of transition, rather than just the physical appearance. You can take a pic of what YOU believe is the most beautiful woman on the planet and show it to people, and there WILL be people who think she's ugly. You seem to have a very unrealistic aspiration attached to being feminine. It's more about being pretty to you than it is about bringing the inner woman out.

Also, none of us are going to give information about how much we pay for hormones, what we take, or how much we take. The rules here at Susan's strictly prohibit this, and self-medicating is an extremely dangerous thing... YOU COULD DIE.

The prices, dosages, and types of drugs each trans person takes is going to be different from person to person. What I am taking, for example, will likely not be the same as what you would take.

See a doctor or therapist. The thing about transition is that you just need to do it all the way or not at all. I doubt any therapist or doctor will do anything for you if you insist on staying permanently in boy mode until you feel "pretty enough" to switch to girl mode. That sounds a little superficial and shallow. Being a girl isn't like a light switch. You can't just turn it on.

I'm really trying to be as tactful about this as possible, but others have tried telling you this stuff and it seems to just be falling on deaf ears.

I wish you luck, and hope that you can get things started, if in fact that is what you need to do.

clairezoey:

Okay, a lot of people have tried to talk to you about this, and I just thought I'd give it a shot.  I know English isn't your first language, so I'll try to be as clear as possible.

I'm not sure you understand what "transsexual" means, or what hormones do, or what transition can involve.  Do you understand that you are talking about changing your body forever?  That you will feel different on the inside, not just look different?  That you will be sore, that you will feel like throwing up, that you will lose muscle?

Do you understand that your penis will probably not be able to get hard?  That you will lose sperm and probably never be able to have children?  That your testicles will shrink?

I'm not trying to be mean, but you don't seem to understand.  This is medicine, and it can be dangerous.  If you really don't think you are a woman, and don't really want to be a woman, and you take this, you might become unhappy and even hate yourself.

This is not like being a man dressing up in women's clothes.  This is medicine.  Most of us take this medicine because we have women's brains in men's bodies, and should have been born women.  We want to live our lives as women, be seen as women, and be treated as women.  We know that the medicine can be dangerous, but it is worth it.

But if you feel like you're a man, and just think it would be a fun game to look like a woman, it can be dangerous to take medicine.  Every post you have made sounds like you consider yourself to be a man, and just want to look like a woman without being a woman.  But this medicine will make you a woman in most ways, and once you take it long enough, you might not be able to go back if you decide you want to be a man instead.

If you have a woman's brain, or want to be a woman, then I support you, even if you use strange words to describe it.  But I wouldn't want you to get hurt.  I think you don't know how what this medicine does, or that it is dangerous and makes you sick.  For me, the medicine is worth it, because I get depressed if I don't have it.  But if people take it when they don't need it, it can make them as depressed and sad as I was without it.  So you need to be careful and think about what you are doing.

Claire, I tried my best to not to respond to your posts. I'm not sure where to respond. Here you make HRT sound like an off-the-shelf 'product' from lancôme for example which you can pick it up at a store to doll yourself up. Its not like that at all. Believe me, you only desire to be cute and be loved, you don't really want to be a girl. I can see that. Becoming a girl here means fixing the body, the first requirement is already having a female brain. Maybe this coming from a person who cares too much about appearance will help you.

Quote from: clairezoeyso actualy i have a body of 12 years old girl, and attracted to girl, but im a guy.........if i dont have penis, i would like to be a girl...somehow, i had a penis and need to be a guy....im fine with that, i can be guy, but when im in guy mode, people said im looks like a girl, i hate that and its like some kind of insult..but really, i do a bit like a girl, i looks like a tomboy girl, not a man...........i dont know, i really confuse.....i really want to be a girl, but i have a dick, but peoples said i looks like a girl....and its really make my my dizzy!!! i love to  a girl, and hell no for men, but gay guy always wants me and its so scary!!!

Yes you are a guy, maybe an effeminate guy. You are straight too, not a lesbian or a bi. You are content with your parts and roles. You have no dysphoriaic feelings whatsoever. You answered where you "really" are yourself. You would love to be a "hot," "beautiful," or even a "cute" girl, but if you don't look as good would you rather stay a guy? and you don't like to be called a girl? usually anyone who truly has a female brain is flattered, especially if a family member addresses them like that. You know, maybe this is better to be left as a fantasy? I mean, you are content being a guy having the right plumbing, you just want to be cute and pretty... somehow you feel that looking good is reserved for girls only. Why is that?

Quote from: clairezoey
i want to be a girl

but it kinda 60/40 = girl/boy

i love to sex with girl

i never think of sex with men, its gross

somehowm i want to be girl in daily life..

i want to heart break any men, flirt then leave them

girl gets more attention, especially cute girl..

i think the human who born as a cute girl was so lucky...

if im a cute girl, i will find a rich man and be rich easily
All for the very wrong reasons. Are those the only reason you want to become a girl? I stress 'become' as you don't seem to be a girl now. I'm sorry but I can't accept the reasons stated here. This is exactly why the gatekeepers of HRT and SRS are very strict. This isn't what it means to be a girl, really, reading that simply leaves me depressed :(

Quote from: clairezoey
hahaahahahhah...im straight. but girl dont like girl me, they think im a gay and looks like girl............my body and face like a bit girly...but my clothe is totally boy...pleople usually mistakes me as tomboy (but im a slim boy!!)
Quote from: clairezoey maybe because my face and body a bit girly...( i have a little boobs and my ass was like a girl, big! (and im slim not fat!!! !!!!!!)..i usualy to hate it before, but i know i think its kinda beautiful and unique...im a guy who have a body of 12 years old girl that starting to have shape of women...
Quote from: clairezoey

ok this is me........do u think i be a cute girl later? if i start HRT

It seems you are obsessed with "slim = beautiful" campaign. In reality beauty is much more diverse than that. As others said it truly is in the eyes of the beholder. For example when it comes to art, will you pay millions for a canvas of senseless multi-colored lines and wiggles? most likely not, but a true admirer of art sees something more in it. Personally I do like slimness, but I won't force that on to others.

HRT will make a lot of difference, but it depends on your underlying genetics and blueprint on what you would look like regardless of either sex. Face won't change drastically, but for some a small change is often enough to present as female, while others need to get FFS. Claire, you really are missing the point. From reading all your comments let me just say that it is not about being "cute," "hot," or "beautiful" however it IS about getting a female body first. The desire to look pretty comes with the territory. Do you realize that there are a lot of cisfemale who are slim but also ugly? not every one is pretty. MTF transsexual means being a female first, looks come second. This is a real dysphoriaic condition which can lead to depression and even suicide. It is not meant to be a fun ride, it is a very real birth defect In my opinion.

You might not like this but do you think you can be pretty and attractive with a male body? if not, chances are that it will not be much different after becoming a girl. Please understand that good looks are not a female trait, they become aware of their looks from early childhood, unlike males. That is the only main advantage, other than that a male can indeed look very good. I don't believe that's really you in the picture but would you be willing to try the following?

1) Get a new refreshing hair cut.

2) Exfoliate and moisturize skin (all over in my opinion) at least once a day.

3) Trim eyebrows to be less wild.

4) If you feel your skin isn't fair enough, there are plenty of natural and cosmetic whitening options. Milk and lemon and very natural and won't harm you.

5) Be careful of not to lighten any dark pigmentation on your lips too much, it will make them dry and often become very cracked.

6) Eat healthy, lots of fruits and veggies. Lots of anti-oxidants (green tea for example) too.

7) They say water is a girl's best friend, but it's really the same for guys too.

Do you think you will start to look better? If no, then be weary that HRT only does very little compared to that. You have to do all that after HRT to stay pretty. There isn't a magic advantage to being a girl. Wouldn't you be more happy as a straight guy that is attractive to girls? Also, did you know that with the effects of HRT you can easily put on two times the fat and even take over four times the effort to get rid of them? Well all I can say is educate yourself. Learn as much as possible, and do the right thing.

Personally I didn't like the fact that 50+ year olds transition, I always wondered "they lived like that for all those years, had children, smiles, and laughs...then why not continue just the same? They don't have too long to live or enjoy life now, especially on top of other health concerns." however, with my growing knowledge I learned that it isn't that simple. Not every one can transition at a young age. I have a fear of aging, and I was unfairly basing that thought on that. Many old MTFs try their best but not everyone can pass well. Is it their fault? no. Is it their fault that they had an over dose of T-poisoning? no again. It is just what the body does, and what the mind looks at helplessly. Now do I mind old MTFs? not at all, in fact I am really proud of them now, and genuinely wish for them to live as who they really were for the rest of their lives in happiness.

The bottom line is don't judge others before you judge yourself. I judged you a lot here, but its only because you sounded so obvious. Please correct me if I was wrong or misunderstood your posts. :D

HRT and surgeries are just the starting point, it does not make a girl. A pretty girl who becomes lazy, forgets hygiene, and carefree will become much more ugly than a naturally normal girl. Its all in the maintainance regardless of a person's physical sex or hormones.  How would you do that if you can't keep your male body pretty? Can you maintain yourself to be the pretty girl you want to be? if so you better start right away, things will get difficult the moment you start transitioning. :)

You look encredibly young clairezoey and you are probably starting at the right time where HRT will have the maximum effect. What age are you? I was much older so the effects were limited for me. I've tried everything over the years but have found estrodial valorate works best for me. Over here in the U.K we can't get injectable HRT but in the U.S they are able to and have the injectable equivilent of estrodial valorate. At such a young age it's always best to see professional advice when taking medication.

thx for all the reply and concerns =)

actually i think i dont have a gender. i can be man and women. but im more into women brain.

however, im straight guy. i would never had sex with man

preety confusing right? im also dizzy

i will feel so nervouse when dealing/chatting with beautiful women, i scare they find out that my body was not a perfect. and think im a gay and will not accept me. and i love so much every beautiful women that i meet.

in the other hand, i feel nervous too when dealing/chatting with handsome man. not because i like them, but because i feel threat by their looks. i feel unsecured and i feel all the cute women that i like will fall to this guy. at first, i wonder why i feel nervous too when dealing with handsome guy? i thought i was gay. but after do some research, i know im not gay and i know i feel threat by them and scare my beautiful women will fall to him.

what is gender? i think i dont have a gender. at least, my brain dont have a gender. i can act as a women and i can act as a man. from now, because im in a boy body, i need to act as a boy. i dont want to act like a girl because it will looks so ugly.

if i had a women body, i will act like a women, i pretendly love a man. i think if i have a female body, i will be lesbian. but u know, being women is simple, especially in sex, if i dont like the, i just let the men sex and doing me, so i already be a women. so i think i dont have a gender.... i can be both. but if i be a girl, i will be a lesbian girl

if i can choose between be cristiano ronaldo or megan fox, i will choose be megan fox..thats why i said i have a female brain

i love the way women live, like the fashion, the clothe, the way women communicate, the way we attract men easily...i love that. but i dont love to have sex with men. i just love flirting a man. make them love me....hheheheh...

btw, i live in indonesia(not thailand haha), and here was so hard to change a gender or find any HRT doctor because change gender was forbiden..........................i dont know..............and i dont have much money yet thats why i ask HRT price...

if i be a man, i will be a metrosexual guy........hmmmm how to make my skins be white? i have some mental disorder because its so hard for me to get a girlfreind....and sometimes i think searching a girlfren was so hard, then i should be a girlfren instead....u know when u love a girl , then that girl love other man, its very heart broken....and instead finding the girl i love, i think i want to be the girl i love and be a girl myself....so i can love myself because im a preety women...............i love cute women so much.................i think preety women was god most perfect creation!!!!!!!

Transition is only a physical change to better represent what you already are on the inside. If you are not a woman on the inside now, you still won't be one at the end of your transition.

I suggest you evaluate what you really want. Perhaps you feel you're too feminine to attract the women you so desire, and you also feel that you can't compete with other men so you wish to become a woman to escape those problems.

Transition only helps with certain things: Issues with gender related body discomfort, and issues with social roles related to gender. If you don't have these problems then I seriously doubt transition is right for you.
