When you are in your dreams, are you a man or a woman?

This started to make me curious since I am FtM, but I've only ever had one dream where, in that dream, I thought I was a guy or was a guy.

In the one dream I thought I was a guy or was a guy...well, I'll make the font smaller to indicate the story about my dream because it's just kind of unnerving in my opinion and everybody doesn't want/need to read about my obnoxious, gross/messed up dreams.

I was being chased up the stairs in my mom's house by I guess my biological dad. I think it was him, but I'm not quite sure; I never actually saw who was chasing me. Regardless, my hair was about jaw length (where it is now), I was wrapped in a towel like it was a blanket (where I had in over my shoulders, you know?) But you couldn't see my chest or my downstairs, if you know what I mean.
I was supposedly naked (I may have had a bra and underwear on) except for the towel and I ran into my room and tried to hide in the closet, but my closet didn't have doors because it doesn't in real life and whoever was chasing me reached between my legs but my underwear was down and I was wearing a pad soaked in blood and they stopped. Maybe it was like, a verfication of my biological sex? I don't know.
It freaked me out, of course. I woke up with practically a heart attack. That's the only dream where I ever tried to hide my female body.

In every other dream, my body just didn't seem to matter. My body seems irrelevant in my dreams.

I don't know. It just made me curious to know what other FtMs and MtFs are in their dreams.

I'm pretty much with you on the "My body seems irrelevant in my dreams." In the dreams where I see my body (which isn't that often, really) I think I'm female in them? In one I had my binder on, but I've never had a dream specifically about my body, or had a dream where I 'acknowledged' it, so to say, so I don't really know downstairs wise. My dreams are often about odd things that are happening rather than myself, so I don't really seem to notice my body.

I'm surprised my body doesn't matter in my dreams, to be honest, because most of my dreams are sexual. Maybe it's because when I'm sleeping, it's the only time that I'm not constantly thinking about it, so it just seems irrelveant altogether. Also, in my dreams, it's usually about the other people and things in the dream rather than myself, so it just doesn't occur to me. So I guess we're about the same with that.

My dreams have never been sexual, but I too am surprised that I don't notice it so much, since I'm so concious about it all through the day. In one dream, I met my bio-male friend out in my garden, and though I had a flat chest (presumably I was binding) I still had the shyness and uncomfortable feeling I felt before I was presenting as male, and I just felt inadequate in comparison to him, plus he was a ridiculous amount taller than me- like a whole foot?

in sex dreams, i am always male-bodied without exception.  it's been like that since i started having sex dreams as a teenager. i'll look down (uh, mid-thrust? sorry if that's tmi, haha) and see that i have all the proper equipment and it's an awesome experience. but in non-sexual dreams, it seems like i just have the body that i'm stuck with right now, and a recurring theme is that everyone sees me as male, but i'm always attempting to hide my chest from everyone and constantly fearing that someone will notice my chest.  i hate those dreams, and it seems like they occur most often when i have a lot of stress in my life. blah.

Aww.. Why haven't I ever had a sex dream, haha? The closest I got was where I was dreaming about this girl I used to know (but now she was my age, and really hot) and I woke up and then fell back asleep and she was ontop of me whilst we were kissing quite fiercely, but I know for a fact that I didn't have a dick in this dream, though I didn't appear to be binding (or I didn't notice I was) or have female breasts.
Oh, I also woke up again before anything raunchy could happen. Feels bad man.

In my happier dreams I'm male. In my nightmares, I'm female. This is true about 95% of the time, the exceptions are rare.

In my dreams, I'm usually very androgynous. So much so, in fact, that people keep asking me if I'm a girl or a boy. I answer boy or say that I'm both or neither or whatever I feel like. Those dreams are happy dreams.
The sex dreams... I'm usually flat-chested and more "liney than curvy" in them. I often use strapons.
In my nightmares I'm female and very vulnerable.

Still mixed. Sometimes I'm recognizably female, more and more often I'm male, and sometimes I'm just me, no particular awareness of gender.

Uh...I'm a guy and tend to dream I am as I am. My "fantasy self" (if you wanna call it that) is a bit more androgynous than I am. I don't usually see my body in my dreams.

In sexual dreams I've always been male bodied, even before I discovered transgenderness but in other dreams I don't really notice.

I just had the most uncomfortable dream last night.
In it I spent a long time getting dressed in terribly... over the top... female garb. I swear, I looked like a 5 dollar, street-corner hooker.
I was going to a plastic surgeon for some reason or another, and I was trying to pass as female.
Once I got there, my Mom was there! And I talked to her about some of the work she was getting done.
I then went to some form of changing room to see how good a job I'd done on dressing up, and I looked a right joke.

I didn't dream I was a woman, I dreamt I was a man trying to look like a woman because it made something easier.
I don't remember what that something was, but I do remember that I was at the point where I was about to cancel my appointment and run out cause I was just that humiliated and uncomfortable about how I appeared.

Anyway, ramble over.
I almost always dream I'm a bloke.

As a child, I was a boy in my dreams until social conditioning started to take over. So I just lived as a boy in my waking fantasies. Now I don't have the fantasies anymore, and my dreams are becoming more and more accurate. I feel as if I'm merely returning to my roots.

I should also note that when I'm obviously female, the dream is usually quite disturbing and "wrong" in other ways. I have nightmarish dreams whether I'm male or female, but the girl dreams are pretty much always messed up or scary in some way, like my parents get dragged into it or something.

As a kid I was always a boy....then older I got gender never really showed in my dreams with one exception.  However, all my dreams show me flat chested --- which is a far cry from how I am now even binding.

However, the one exception is that I have always been male in my sexual dreams

Whenever i refer to myself in my head, i use male pronouns or refer to myself as male and always have; so in dreams its usually the same. However it's more like, if a dream does not contain somebody i know, or if i do know them the situation is very surreal, i will just be more male. Other times, in dreams i will appear male from my point of view but others still react towards me as they do IRL (before coming out). And yes, of the 2/3 kind of sexual dreams i have had i 'felt' male but in once case my downstairs was dissapointingly still female ( i think). That being said they were all pretty tame dreams anyway... Sheesh

Oh P.S. Devyn, is that your chosen male name? Mine's Devin right here, only i hadn't decided before i joined this site. *Devvy high five*
