would you rather be the one who wants, or the one who is wanted?

i would always prefer to be wanted, than to want; although i have wanted some, sometimes, but then i didn't and that was a drag. i think it is much better and more satisfying to be wanted.

Okay babygurl, I'll bite.

The one who wants. Why do you feel it much better and more satisfying to be wanted? That's interesting.

Wing Walker

I manage both. I got a toolbox.

Also, I only like to be wanted if I want first.

Oh thanks, Wing Walker. Now that song is stuck in my head.

I go back and forth on the original question. It's validating and a compliment to be wanted, but if you don't want back, it is annoying. And you can't make yourself want someone. Wanting without being wanted back is frustrating. I think I'd take the latter though. Then it's in my control.

Good question.

It's always nice to be wanted; but there's also value in wanting. So it seems to me.

When both coincide things become very, very nice!

I suppose I am firmly in the middle.

Jacquline Susan said in The Valley of the Dolls, that 'in every relationship there is one who loves, and one who is loved."  She might be right about that.

Yes, I would; if I only could, I surely would.

"Sometimes it's better to be loved than it is to love."   --- Sandy Posey, "I Must Have Been Out of My Head"  Yes, there is evidence that Ms. Susan is right.

IMHO, Just for me, in a relationship that works, and I had three failures by which to compare.  Being both wanting and wanted, *by one another.*  All I know is monogamy and that is my life.  That's how Cindy and I will make it together, from here to hereafter.  That is where I find my joy and balance.

Between the one who loves, and the one who is loved, the one who wants and the one who is wanted, all of the power is in the hands of those that love, and who want.

Everyone wants to feel necessary.
Wanting is a hollow emotion for me since I rarely believe I can succeed.

QuoteEveryone wants to feel necessary.

I do not like people to want me or depend on me. I also do not want anyone else. I love my solitude, independence and moderate simple life.

Sorry... had to.

Anyways...

This is a real good book and it gives a great view point of both sides of the 'wanted' 'wants' game.

I'm always the one wanting, so being wanted would be nice for a change.

Like yin and yang...

Positive and negative...

Life and death....

North and South...

Light and Dark....

The best things in life for me tend to have balance...therefore either or each is equally valid.... and to be truly in touch with your inner feelings you need to know both.... want and wanted......surely?

Both...?

Chase or be chased: that's easier. Chase, but maybe it's because I'm sick to death of being chased.
