A new singer/songwriter named Misao just released her debut single in Japan, and though she is not Japan's first transgender singer, her debut comes at a time when so-called GID (gender identification disorder) cases have become big news.
Back in the '70s, one famous male celebrity underwent a sex change and became a female singer, and Japanese show business is filled with cross-dressing personalities who don't necessarily undergo operations.
