Hello everyone...I just had my 3rd laser treatment done. 3 more  to go.. My ? is this...I also just ordered an epilator which should be in any day, is it wise to use it now or wait til after all my laser treatments are over...?? I can tell my facial hair is a little better, but still a ways to go.
Anyway, I sooo dislike having to shave....Any advise???Christy

I have no experience in laser treatment, but I once tried an epilator. It was unsatisfactory because of some swellings, and I never used the epilator again.

Barbie, what do you use to keep your legs hairless and smooth?

Just a small razor for women is enough. No problem except that I should shave whenever I take shower after exercising.

Actually I have used Epila, a home laser treatment kit, but its efficacy is still dubious. I am thinking purchasing Tria (http://www.triabeauty.com/) when I visit the US.

I have used an epilator all over my body except my face, for years. They work pretty good and the hair comes back in thinner as the roots a damaged every time you yank them out. I'll admit, the first time hurts like heck and you may want to consider a few stiff drinks and or doing small sections at a time until it's done. I'd also recommend shaving first then epilating the hairs as they come in so that you are not pulling so many hairs per square inch.

After the you get through the first time, it really doesn't hurt at all. If you are still full of T and your hair is coarse, you are more likely to have issues with little bumps and ingrown hairs. I work every day as a guy and NO ONE has ever asked about my hairless arms and I work in a industrial/ emergency response business around all sorts of white and blue collar guys.

I just wanted to mention that fact since it seams so many cd/ts that are in guy mode seem afraid to remove hair like it's just going to set off all kinds of ->-bleeped-<- alarms or something.  My wife likes me smooth and only complains if I get "pokey" as in whiskers.  I wish I could tell her everything but I know it wouldn't go well. She is open minded to gay/tg sort of stuff but not when it comes to her husband.

Definitely do not use an epilator until your laser is entirely done! The reason is that laser is targeting the follicle of the hair as it's growing, if you pull the hair out there's no hair to target! Also, laser works best on dark hairs, and often the hairs that grow back after epilation are a little more thin and not as dark - so the laser won't be as effective on these follicles. As much of a pain as it is, you're much better off to just shave until it's all over.

I've been thinking about doing laser on my legs again, and have had to stop epilating to let the hair growth cycle get back underway so that the laser will be able to see the hair root in the follicle in order to target it. I know your pain in hating shaving, me too :(

Thanks ladies for your replies. I will take your advise and get done with my laser treatments first. I go next week for #5. As far as hairless arms/legs/and chest, I have been doing it now for over a year now. No one has said anything. I cant imagine it any other way now. In fact I cringe at the thought of hair on my legs....Thanks again....Christy

n00b here.
Well, you may ask what a FtM is doing here. It's simple: i hate furs! I just want to take them off. I cannot afford the laser epilation right know and i want to ask you, girls [and boys], what would you recommend  =)
I don't like to shave too and i didn't get it right, about those other ways of epilating  .-.
