So I figured I'd introduce myself. I am a 22 year old FtM and I've been really seriously considering transition for the past year or so.  I have learned a lot in the process. From what it means to be a transsexual, the transition process, and whole bunch of other things.

I have wanted to be a boy all my life, but never really knew that it was possible. I finally ran across a documentary a few years ago, and it was then that I learned that not only was it, indeed, possible, but that there was a term for how I had felt for so long. So I thought about it for a while, and then pushed my new found knowledge aside. Like so many others, I tried even harder to fit into the role of my biological sex. I started wearing the typical female clothing, grew my hair long (I had kept it no longer than a couple of inches since 4th grade), and all sorts of other things. It didn't last. After a year and a half of that, I was longing to return to my blue jeans, polos, t-shirts, and my manly haircut. It was then that I realized that the way I felt wasn't just going to disappear.

I've come a long way in the past year, and I feel like transition is right for me. Now I just have to find a therapist in this po-dunk town of mine.

Anyway, that's my intro. I'm really Looking forward to being a part of the family here.
