After a male student decided to run for Homecoming Queen at David Crockett High School in Jonesborough, Tennessee, students and parents held a prayer vigil outside of the school. The local yokels reaction would be laughable if it weren't for the feelings of the poor student who ran; after all, what does it do to the psyche to have your classmates hold a demonstration outside of your school because you tried to participate in an extracurricular activity?
