Well...it's interesting. More and more of my extended family is accepting me. I finally got the courage to basically put on Facebook "Hey, I'm a transsexual. If you don't want to be my friend or a part of my family then don't add my female account." Also, my male account is being deactivated in a month as well. I guess I just got tired of waiting for people to accept me for being myself. So yeah, two things from this...

1) My extended family is accepting me little by little. It turns out my grandfather accepts me ^_^ Turns out he was a bit surprised at having a granddaughter but nothing he couldn't handle. (Sadly my immediate family is still having troubles coping)

2) My old high school is having a hard time believing that I'm a transsexual. They think it's just joke XD That'll be funny when I show up with breasts to a football game to say high to my old band teacher >.>

But yeah, college is going well. I think I might be able to start Hormones within two weeks and I have a job at the school ^_^

It's nice to hear your grandfather took it in stride. :) Unfortunately with closer family, it can be harder for them to accept revelations because they think they know you so well. They can't wrap their heads around the fact that you're the same person you've always been, they were just seeing you as the wrong gender.

Good luck with the hormones!

Well, that's (mostly) great news! Be patient with the family however, they've known you a certain way for years now, and that kind of change is hard to swallow. In a way, they have to transition along with you, so be patient and understanding and always be willing to talk and provide as much info as will help them get through it =]

I'm glad for you, Samantha.  It can take a while for your family and your old high school friends to adjust.  You've been thinking aobut this for a while but it's new to them.  It sounds like you are going ahead regardless, which is often the best attitude because sooner or later the rest will see that you are the same person but more real than before. ;)  And that will help them accept the new, improved you.

Samantha,
Great news about your grandfather.  People who knew us before sometimes need to have a bit of time to adjust.

Good news on the HRT.   ;D

Good for you girl. When I came out, I converted my Male FB over and a lot of people dropped me, shrug. That's how it goes sometimes

great news Samantha, as others have said, the closer people are to us the harder it is sometimes for them to accept our transition.

Thanks for update and see, we did notice, lol.
