No, especially with what we usually feed cats nowadays.  Just does not make decent fertilizer at all.  Won't hurt them though.

This reminds me of an episode of House where some guy used pigeon poop to fertilize his plants.

No cat manure is not good for plants.  Not sure why but it kills them off.

Now chicken manure...that's some good sh*t.

Horse manure if composted right. It takes about a year. The piles need to be large enough and need to sit for about six months or until the center starts to heat enough to kill off the bad stuff. This will also kill the seed that passes through. You do need to rotate the pile, and can wait another 6 or so months. There is a peat like structure when its done, and most of the minerals, etc. will still be there. Bonus....doesn't smell anymore, except like rich soil.  You city folks and such may have to sneak in a mini-horse or two. They are very lovable. 

Oh,...cat crap is nasty stuff. So are pigs, people, & dogs. No offense meant there, all very lovable creatures, but the crap is full of nasty surprises.

Yeah, the horse stuff is great. I collect loads of it. Eventually it breaks down into lovely black compost.

The biggest problem is that, you get out about 1/3 of what you collect.

There are few things as depressing.

That's the part you want. Most Garden stuff like sheep and cow manure do the same thing, for the most part. Peat is really just a small part of what it started as.

For me....Composted Horse Manure puts a lot more magic in gardening than anything else.
