My Name Is Ellie

9'' long, 4'' wide.

But I guess that's proportionate to my UK9 shoes and my 6'1 height :4

Guy hands are like a knuckle wider and the arms just under a hand longer on average than ladies of the same height if I remember back to an Engineering Psychology class from ages ago.  There are charts on it if you are that interested.  But remember those are averages so the extremes will overlap.

What this means is dress to complement what you have and realize that only a handful of folks will have the data accurate enough to get it right.  And, if they are that good, it may be due to a non-casual interest.

Well, I'm not sure that anyone so far has actually had really big 'guy hands' ... I mean, I take a man's medium glove and my hands are almost exactly the same size as my wife who is 5'6" and very slender and feminine in appearance.

So anyway, I measured my left hand and it came out at about 7.5" long (maybe a little more: I wasn't entirely sure where on my wrist to start from) and 4" wide ... which is pretty much the same size as all the girls worrying about their 'STOP sign' hands ... And my best male friend's wife was only the other day pointing out how much thicker her wrists were than mine, and no one would ever mistake her for a man.

So I think this is another one of those things that we are super-conscious of, but that disappear as an issue of ones presentation as a whole is confident and female ... Yes, pretty nails will make a big difference ... And of course, Pauline is right. Guys aren't ever going to waste time checking out a girl's hands ... not as long as she has boobs to look at instead! ;)

Thanks for this post you just made me paranoid, lol Had to go and measure my hands.

Left and right hands the same, 7inchs long, 3inches wide and middle finger 2 1/2 inches in circumference. My hands look fairly slim as do my fingers. I'm also only 5ft 5 1/2 inches tall. I did worry about my hands to start with but I saw many women's hands like mine so I stopped worrying until this post, (na only kidding, lol).

That's weird, my hands have different proportions.  o_o

6'1" 170 lbs

Left: 7.25" from first wrist crease, 3.5" wide at base of the fingers, 2" circumference of middle finger
Right: 7.5" from first wrist crease, 3.25" wide at base of the fingers, 2.1" circumference of middle finger

I don't worry about my hands much though because they're the same size as my sister and mom, both of whom are at least 4" shorter than I am.  Nails definitely help very much with the appearance :)  I'm finally almost over my lifelong nail-biting habit and my hands already look WAY better.

8.25 long, 3.25 wide.  I measured from the tip of the middle finger to the first crease, and at the palmar crease below the knuckles.

I'm 6'4ish (varies by up to 4 inches) and weigh about 210 lbs right now.  I only had a hard ruler, I can add circumference later.

I'm inclined to say that in general women do have smaller, slimmer hands than men but the two attractive women in the post office have decidely unattractive hands...dunno why.

Well whatever, maybe in the majority of women, I don't like to be reminded of anything that takes my confidence away, in this past year since my Fiancé and I got engaged, my left hand has been the centre of attention because of my engagement ring, just women in general who Id meet in a ladies room and notice my engagement ring, wishing me luck, and making a wish on my ring, a nice old lady took my hand and just admired my ring even telling me how soft my hands are, I also get nice complements on my nails, I keep my hands soft and silky and my nails looking pretty. On my wedding day I wore a pair of lace elbow length bridal gloves with a finger exposed design to show off my beautiful ring and nails, the front side of the gloves had a pretty pink bow on the wrist, my hands looked totally feminine and pretty, yes my hands maybe on the slightly big side, but nobody in all the years since I transition has ever made a comment or a remark on the size of my hands, its a none issue, just my 2cents.

Hugs
Pauline

In the interests of comparison I'm 5'9" (ish), 140lbs (10 stone) and my hands are 7 inches from the wrist, 3" wide and 2.5" circumference round the base of my middle finger. I've had a couple of female friends complain that my hands are more feminine than theirs.

In the interests of comparison I'm 5'10" (ish), 168lbs and my hands are 7 inches from the wrist, 3" wide and 2.5" circumference round the base of my middle finger. ( My Hands are the same size as Helena's ).  ;D

This is a picture from a couple months ago. But I can barely fit a iphone in my hand. I was picked on for having girly hands when I was in high school. I was picked on once by a cousin for having large hands but I've since figured out she was really picking on my insecurities of passing.

I'm very envious of those long pretty nails

Really? It's a never ending battle with them flaking and I have to keep trimming them. I have to be real careful how I use my hands now. It's hard upkeep.

I guess I can go ahead and measure mine. From my wrist the length of my hand is 7 inches long and three inches of that is my middle finger length. My palm is three inches wide and my middle finger has a circumference of 2.3 inches. I'm not quite five foot eight but my height is stuck as reading five foot ten inches on my id because while keeping up the charade about being male I exaggerated my height to the dmv and now I can't very well take it back now.

A funny thing about body dysphoria. I went out for the first time En femme, Yesterday.
(Yippee for Me!! :). but that's another story on a different post)

Anyways, I swear . My hands look much smaller today and more feminine since going out. :o

My hands are the size of the average female who are 5'9 (I am 5'7). I actually like looking at my hands and comparing it to the average male, since there is a size difference.

It is not too much of a concern, besides the appearance, since they look almost identical to the females in my family.

My concern is more on the shoulders, but not too much.

I could pass, not a doubt.
