It's a question that isn't easily answered. How do high schools and colleges include transgender students in competitive sports? A "think tank" of professionals that included experts on transgender issues that ranged in disciplines (law, medicine, advocacy) as well as athletic leaders from the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the National High School Federation convened for several days to turn the best inclusive practices into model policies and a framework for high school and college athletic leaders.

The result was a 56-page report sponsored by the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) and It Takes A Team!, an Initiative of the Women's Sports Foundation. The "On the Team: Equal Opportunities for Transgender Student Athletes" is the first ever report to provide policies and frameworks for athletic leaders to ensure equal access to school athletics for transgender students.
