Today's GLBT History Month icon is trans author and activist Leslie Feinberg. Born September 1, 1949, Feinberg has written several highly acclaimed works and has actively sort equality for all minority groups regardless of gender, race, nationality or sexuality.

On the topic of gender, Feinberg is quoted as saying, "Gender is the poetry each of us makes out of the language we are taught".
