Ideally, I would look a lot like Miyavi--androgynous, small of build, slender, pale-ish skin, dark hair, little hair on the body.  Or I would want to look like Lestat (Tom Cruise version).  However, since both are out of my reach entirely I'm just aiming for a more androgynous looking male who's slim/toned and leans towards fem in looks.

If I was 5'7", I would be able to aim more for what I want to look like, but I don't mind being 5'10".

I like the tom-boy girls who will make me feel secure and make me feel like I have someone who I can rely on--I'm not good at being the "dominant" person in a relationship so to speak.  I might be male, but I definitely want to be a house husband.

Nothing turns me on anywhere--or not much at least.

Physically it'd be nice to have a dick... also strength is a plus.  I already don't have boobs but that was on the list for sure. I'm not sure really what the ideal male look is.  I'm a shaggy haired, dark colors, cargo pants, and t-shirt kinda guy if thats what you mean. As far as height goes I suppose it'd be alright to be 5'7, but I have no problem with the height I am which is around 5'4.

I like girls who are feminine but a little rough around the edges.  Girls who will play fight and sass you with a smile in their eyes.   I don't know how to describe it other than that really.  At this point my minds going crazy with girls... been on T a year and I haven't been involved as such for 2 years... So at this point its not hard for a girl to catch my mind for at least a moment or two.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

I want to be a "pretty boy" - undoubtedly male, but fem looking. Skinny and androgynous. I like to think being trans gives me a good chance of achieving this ideal look

That's exactly how I'd like to be. :D Pretty, but still a boy. I'd like to remain skinny and somewhat androgynous, have a flat chest and less prominent hips. Voice is also very important for me. I'm really into music and I'd like to know that I could sing a bit more like my favourite artists, even if just for fun. Heightwise, yeah, I'd like to be 5"7 that would be perfect for me. Not too tall and not too short. At present I feel, at almost 5"5, I'm too short.

As for attraction... erm... I'm not really into girls. I think I am slightly bisexual, however, I just don't feel attracted to females very often -- I do like feminine people (generally boys) and I am highly attracted to certain articles of women's clothing. What makes me turned on immedietely? I suppose it's a mix of personality and appearance. I like girly boys who are sort of andro in appearance and I really like it if they... erm... dress in women's clothing. (Hope that's not TMI!)

Sorry if I didn't answer anything correctly... I'm just still rather confused about myself.

My goal is fairly simple: being happy and comfortable in my own skin. I'd like to be androgynous physically but it's not a big deal. I'd be happy if I was 5 foot 7. I'm 5 foot 2(ish) and can't reach the upper cabinets in the kitchen. Uhhh....I like women and being feminine isn't really an issue with my partner. I just want somebody that I click with.

Kinda confused about why these questions are being asked...

I'm curious about this too :o. Maybe we ought to start a similar thread for the MTF side ????

I have a question.

What do you guys aim for, physically in becoming a guy? What's the ideal guy look?
And how would you feel like if you were around 5'7 in height?

-----
And if you like girls, what kind of girls in general in personality? Is a girl being feminine a huge thing? And what makes you turned on immediately?

I just want to look like a masculine version of myself.  I think for the most part I am a good looking guy.  MY ideal guy look would be, slightly feminine, not really girly, just not a macho man.  Scruffy face, larger shoulders then hips, lean frame with muscular arms and shoulders, (but not buck angel muscular) just, regular toned.

I am 5'5 so id love to be 5'7.

I mostly like guys, but I like girls sometimes too.  I would want a fun, easy going, not crazy girl. Not clingy or overly romantic.  I actually like slightly boyish girls.  for example, say I saw a girl with all pink and tons of makeup, i would probably be more attracted to a girl with some cute jeans and a low cut top. lol

What makes me turned on instantly? A cute butt and a pretty face.

some ftm guy

i want the obvious things, no curves, flat chest but also that look when guys don't shave for a couple days, not quite a beard per say but stubble. and lean muscle, i'll get that when i run and weightlift anyway ;) i wish i were at the shortest 5'7" but sadly I'm a 5'4". I'm a short scrawny dorky little guy :( oh well i could be way shorter.

the ideal guy look is different for every guy.

i like women who don't hate themselves, the self loathing kind are impossible to cheer up and negative people bring everyone else down, i like women who are down to earth, can have smart conversations and can make me laugh. similiar interests of course.

i like butch or femme but not so girly that she takes forever getting ready, the high maintenance, preppy princess kind of woman. then i'd also have to spend all my money on diamonds *shudders*

i tend to be attracted to anyone unusual. the more "different" someone is the more I'm going to be drawn to them and yes that's immediate lol. like "wow, I've never known anyone like that before." also someone eccentric, random, that helps ;D

QuoteWhat do you guys aim for, physically in becoming a guy?
I'm already a guy. What I aim for, physically, is for people to be able to recognize that so they stop treating me like a woman. In my case this would mean a flat chest, no more curves, and whatever it would take to make my face look male (I've got a strong jaw already, so I figure it's to do with eye & lip shape and fat distribution.)
QuoteWhat's the ideal guy look?
eh, in my case I'd hopefully end up looking wicked metal. I probably can't though.
QuoteAnd how would you feel like if you were around 5'7 in height?
Better. I'm 5'1 now, it'd be six inches of improvement. (giggity?)
QuoteAnd if you like girls, what kind of girls in general in personality?
I don't always like women, but when I do, they tend to be any combination of outdoorsy, athletic, arsty, sporty, and fit. I tend to like a lady who will like to do stuff with me, doing things together won't usually be a matter of compromising between something I hate and she loves or something she hates and I love.
QuoteIs a girl being feminine a huge thing?
I don't get along with feminine women. Never have. I don't get along with macho men, either, so I think it has to do with people like this stating, "Women are like ____ and men are like ____" with high frequency, and in 99/100 cases the blanks are bull->-bleeped-<- theorizing that the person will immediately apply to their treatment of others and make the world a more gender-segregated place. I'm American and we have a problem with that right now, though, so if you're from somewhere else take it with a grain of salt.
QuoteAnd what makes you turned on immediately?
I'm an ab guy. Whether it's men or women, I'm checking out the torso. In both cases I like it to be firm and flat and maybe even a little defined. :3

Kinda confused about why these questions are being asked...

On the night I was thinking this, I was kind of thinking of becoming more closer to a man (been on spiro for 4 months), so I was wondering if I should just quit. Then if I quit, me being a cisguy right now, I could become the best looking guy. And the people who would know what the best looking cisguy are ftm, so I ask. And by your definition you would know what people like; I am getting a rough idea of this pretty looking, muscled up, Tom Cruise-Rugged, image who is comfortable in his own skin...

Then me being 5'7, I was wondering how a ftm would like being that height, since they want to be passable as much as possible. Some like it, but most didn't care, and few thought it was a "shrunk".

Then on the girl questions, I was wondering what the average straight guy would want... psychologically. And the turned on question was just about what would the average straight guys be turned on by. Thought most ftm are straight and would be better at being a guy than guys would be guys... like how mtfs are better at being feminine than the average ciswoman.

Me, putting on more upper body muscle, losing som of the fat around the gut and hips, perhaps if I could grow another inch and become an even 5 foot 10. Well and uhhhmm no more breasticles and some kind of lower surgery.

I'd be sad if I was 5'7. Because it would mean someone chopped off my feet or the top of my head.

UMm I like smart, intelligent, kinda more girly girls.. that care alot and don'/t mind when I get all sensitive. <3 if you're reading this Jen. Fem.. I donno.. I think so. I'm not attracted to the butch types. Turned on immediately.. oh gawd.. ear nibbling.
I think there are alot of different ideal guy looks - I can point to super skinny emo guys and find super hot ones there, or look at athletes and find super bulked up hot ones, and even some chunkier guys are good looking.. I don't have any specific preference.. though I'd have to say Jake Gylanhal is one of theeee most attractive men out there.

I might have to agree there :( there's something about that answer I don't quite like, but I can't definitively put my finger on it. And Megan, maybe you ought to talk to a counselor about your thoughts? You could be just going through a doubting phase, but I do understand some go on hormones then decide it's not for them. I also saw you make a thread on what would happen if a cis-male took testosterone, which seems a bit fishy when adding that to the answers you provided. Are you trying to be a more "convincing" guy because you're unsure how convincing you can be as an MTF? Or are you trying to be more confident or assured with your "maleness" ??? because those are two things I'm picking up here. There's no one way to be male, female, or even human so I think you ought to be convincing yourself of your "selfness" more than anything else. Don't know if that made sense, not trying to call you out or anything, just seemed like you were trying to grasp at something.

I have had top surgery. I'm still waiting for bottom surgery to improve. And for it to be covered by insurance or Obamacare. My equipment bothers me, but there's not much I can do about it now.

No ideal guy look. I would love to wear an overcoat like Jimmy Smits does, but he's about eight inches taller than I am (maybe more), so I don't think that's gonna happen. I would love to lift weights again and build up my arms and chest, but my wrist is dorked up, so that's not gonna happen. I'm still learning to live with what I have.

If I were 5' 7", I would thank the gods for the additional 1/2 to 3/4" in height.

Don't like girls. The girlier they are, the more I don't like them.

P.S. I read your follow-up post and don't really understand where you're coming from. Sorry. Maybe I'm just dense today.

i was lucky in having taller parents, so i'm 5'10 naturally. my body is lean and skinny though, so i guess my ideal body physically would be to be more muscular and cut, nothing like the jersey shore guys though. and i'm more skater in fashion sense. but i don't think there is an ideal look for trans guys. i've attended the trans health conference in my area (philly) and saw transmen that were all sorts of appearances. ranging from gangster to cowboys.

and in a partner, i definitely like girly girls. in fact, i used to have a bunch of lesbian/bi friends, who were both butch and fem. and while i was okay with dating bi girls, i found myself irritated by the competition with girls that i personally though looked more masculine than i did.
something about butchy girls bothers me now. and i tend to find myself attracted to straight girlie girls. the girlier the better.

Tom Cruise is rugged? :icon_blink: I never knew that...

Did notice a lot of transguys prefer the more androgynous look...I guess maybe that's where the above comes from? Personally, I'd much rather look like RDJ than Cruise -- odds are better for me, too, so there's a bonus. I'm not interested in a pretty-boy look, though I do admit a guy's gotta look good. Guess I just prefer something a bit rougher, per se, than pretty-boy for myself.

I do have to say though, Megan, it does seem as though you're in a spot in all of this where perhaps you need additional counseling or therapy. You have to figure out what you truly want in life and pursue that to the best of your ability: life's too short to do otherwise.

Finally came to the head of my doubts and worries, and know exactly what to do with my life.

I am so glad now, because it like clicked today, all of it together and made sense to me. (career wise)

gender wise, I am still confuse... I'll talk to a counselor when I get to California, I'll just be on my spiro for the safe side.

I don't want to be a man like I did now, that was weird since that never happen to me before. Yeah I was thinking of taking testosterone.

I don't even know what to call myself, gender, it's all like some daze. but closer still.

Youth is fleeting, I realized that today, I was thinking of my life is passing by... all the choices I have to make. If I was 30 yrs old I would die inside to think I am nobody, I really felt 30 yrs old, like I had nothing. That would be the risk of pursuing a musical career without an idea of what I was going for; fame/fortune. That's stupid now that I look at it, since I can easily get "some" fame and a little "fortune" doing something a lot more real and realistic.

Yeah...

then
I feel like I could be loved as a guy, and loved as a woman. I must be androgynous. I must look androgynous then....

that's why I been on this weird feeling of spiro, like I was finally becoming normalize

and now that I been feeling more womanly than usual, I was getting fearful of not being  guy.

it makes all sense I think to me

I have to be in a careful balance of male and female wherever that is.

wtf, I don't make any sense... i have to do something else now
  •

Meepit

Well it's good that you're making a decision to see your counselor again :o I thought you had it sorted out when you first started your response....but the last sentence just threw it off. The fact that you said "balance of male and female" seems like more of an androgynous thing (though I realize that EVERYONE is some sort of balance of male and female). Did you check out the androgyny section of the forum? Perhaps you can relate to some of that and get a better grasp of what might be going on. Definitely glad that you're coming out and letting us know what's up though :) leaves no hard feelings with me (I can't speak for the rest).
  •

Megan

I don't have a counselor yet, but I have my career figured out, which is all I mean; become a plastic surgeon.

When I get to California, I'll just get one to talk too about my gender issues. I want to become a woman again, I should do a little full-time in California, see if it helps me. If not then I probably found my answer.

Well I am getting off-topic about this thread... so I just want to end this here.
