Yeah that was my point exactly - In the public part of the forum these things can be read not only by forum members but also by any visitor which could include a hater or two. Plus, if it was me who you were meeting I would have been a bit miffed, to be honest, that everyone in the world now knew that we meeting.
And for the benefit of spacial and others I am not suggesting that precautions aren't good. Just that privately messaging a few known people is probably less dangerous and potentially embarrassing than letting the whole world, including any wrongdoers, potentially know the time and place.
I am sure that any of the Mods would have been happy to watch out for you, or maybe just message a few of us... it's fine. Oh and in case you mistrust us too let me tell you that Susan has all her staff's real world addresses and phone numbers so we could also be easily contacted in any genuine emergency.
Like I say I wasn't really trying to criticise. Just trying to make sure that both you and erocse were both safe and not inadvertently embarrassed by someone unwanted reading the "announcement".
