I was just wondering if anybody can help me with a differnt game.
Here is what ive played:
WoW, I have no interest in playing anytill Calaclysm. Ive done everything I do can, and am so board of it I don't even no if I will go back for Cataclysm.
Aion, Boring boring boring!!!
Runescape, have not played it in a long time, I think I need somthing new.
Maplestory (lol) this is what im kinda playing right now, downloaded it and trying to convince myself to play it. :P :P :P

I would go back for Cata, it changes everything in the game. The leveling, the quests, the look of the world, the gear. It's a whole new game.

Anyway, Runescape hardly counts. You could try Warcraft 3, they have a good, free online service, and in addition to ladder there's some custom games and DoTA...

Could always get a Pokemon Cart and get in on the Wi-Fi action.

I play Eve online, It has a very steep learning curve but, the fact that it is one persistent world not broken into shards and things like financial scams are explicitly allowed make it very different than alot of other games.

It isn't a game for everyone, but I really enjoy it.

Hello =] for the past three+ years I have been playing City of Heroes/Villains and Guild Wars. Neither are what I would consider "extreme" games, but I find them very enjoyable. The character creation engine used by ncSoft for City of Heroes/Villains has won awards for it's customization, and now you can even customize how you character's powers/abilities look. The new Going Rogue expansion allows your characters to now change their alignment from Hero to Vigilante to Villain and then back if you wish; and vice versa, Villains can go from Villain to Rogue to Hero. It all really depends on your playing style though. If you are tired of the sword n sorcery stuff, maybe City of Heroes could be a nice change. At a specific level you get to choose from 4 travel powers; Super Speed, Super Jump, Flight, and Teleportation. =]

Just my opinion, but I can't say anything bad about the game.

Have you tried Lord of the Rings Online? I tried it and didn't like it (too linear) but a lot of people do.

I played FFXI for a long time and I think it's still going strong. It's a ton of fun if you can get into it (the leveling grind is kind of harsh, typical for older and Asian MMOs).

If you're interested in something non-RPG but still addictive and fun and multiplayer, Starcraft II is out now - and if you use Real ID, you can keep in contact with your WoW friends.

meh

I played WoW for like 5+ years and I'm so sick of it. Quitting that game was like quitting a hardcore drug though (I imagine anyway). I put so much time into my toons.

Star Wars the Old Republic is coming out soon and that looks pretty damn good. I heard the new Final Fantasy is kinda lame. There's an MMO called Secret World I'm kinda looking at too.

I couldn't get into LOTRO. I hated Aion, damn gankers and the grind. I didn't like the old Final Fantasy Online game. Age of Conan has said to be gotten a bit better now, but I have no clue. Eve Online was a bit boring for me, but I'm not into pvp. I thought COH was pretty boring.

WTB good new MMO, kk thx.

I also have my eye on SWtOR -- we'll see.  I've been playin WoW for like 5 years as well and am hoping cata might revitalize my interest -  I keep loggin in every few weeks and tinkering around but really haven't cared about any of my toon's progression, etc since about the time I realized I was a girl (have had other things on my mind.).

Since my subscription doesn't run out till like December, i'll probably continue with wow for a while, but since Jennypenny can't play with me anymore (using a PC and playing games is really hard on her physically - hurts her wrists and give her headaches.) I have kinda lost the motivation to play since I can't play with her, and I'd rather explore my discovered gender identity in my spare time lately.

I'm sure I'll eventually return to play more regularly since RPG's have always been a big part of my life ever since I was like 8 years old (old pencil and paper / dice RPGs).  However I am not sure that I will play as crazy/often as I used to since I don't need to escape into the fantasy world to be accepted as a girl anymore.

When I realized I could create a character, play a role and act how I wanted to (even if I couldn't act that way in real life) - it has been my 'drug' of choice.  Now that you can experience an online world that was only once available in my imagination, it is even so much cooler in a computer-generated MMORPG.  I'm not tied to any specific genre (have played fantasy, sci fi, superhero, post-apocalypse, werewolf/vampire, old western, super robot mecha, and all kinds of others... ) its all about how rich the content is, and how the world is implemented.

Cheers!

Teleportation.  That is the bad thing. :P (Unless they've improved it since I've played... End-swallowing lagfests are no picnic on a laptop like mine.)

Seriously though, seconding CoH/CoV. I played it for a while and haven't gotten to start back up again, but it's a great game for casual MMO fun, especially if you make or bring along friends. You can still make lots of progress and have a ton of fun playing only a few hours a week, or you can play a lot more and still really enjoy it. And people's main complaint about the game used to be the repetitiveness of certain missions; that's pretty much been solved by the addition of player-generated storylines! You can create your own quests to share, too.

I'll second that character-making is a whole other game unto itself. It's really fun to think up a superhero (I DEMAND that at least one of your toons has a bad pun for a name), design the perfect costume and powersets, and then uncover cool powers and change your strategies as you go along. One other nice thing is that the difficulty level of quests and such can be customized (and it also increases with the number of players on your team) so that if you're finding it boring, you'll have to start thinking a lot faster and strategizing a lot more. Another thing I really like is that there's not NEARLY as much of an emphasis on equipment as in other games. You can still focus on that stuff if you want to, but you can still have a competent character even if you don't spend much time thinking about your items.

My main caveat about the game-- again, I dunno if this has changed-- is that in City of Villains, the first few storylines are kinda boring and grindy (WHO THE *#@&^ CARES ABOUT SNAKES). But it really picks up once you finish 'em. And, solo-play is far less rewarding than playing in a team (even with random people), but that just might be my preference.

AprilDawn, how's Going Rogue?

Brainiac, Going Rogue sets the superhero gaming Genre on it's ear. There's a whole new universe to explore called Praetoria with all new enemies, storylines, two new powersets, and you can create characters now that are Praetorians for the Republic or for the Resistance. At a certain level you get to choose whether to go to Paragon City as a hero, or to the Rogue Isles as a villian. Being able to change your alignment is cool, too. If you take a hero and do enough alignment missions to become a Vigilante they can then travel between Paragon and the Rogue isles and do missions in either place. I'm not positive yet if there is a mission architect in Praetoria, but I think there is. The maps and npc's and villian groups in Praetoria are definitely advanced from where CoH/CoV was, although Ultra Mode makes it look like a whole new game.

I admit that early missions on both sides can be rather boring, and I got really sick of being sent to the Hollows at level 5-6... not to mention how much I hate the snake missions. Later levels however are a blast, especially if you can get good groups of people who really know how to play their character. I've been in some pretty intense battles with all villians conning purple. My favorite toon is a Magic Blaster I called KnytBlast. He was my first 50, and I got him there mostly solo, so it took a long time which forced me to really learn how to play that blaster for all he was worth.

Ok, now I wanna go play .... lol

Ever take a Stone Tanker and go pick a fight with a giant monster? That's fun =]

My MMO of choice is Dungeons and Dragons: Ebberon Online. >> it's so addictive. I love it. It's free too which is awesome.

Also Phantasy Star Online: Ambition of the Illuminus is going to be back online soon. Someone is making a free public server. It's going slow, but the server is technically up and running, you just can't leave the base yet.

I love that game so much, i sent a message to Robin at Steam, you know, owned by Valve, to add it to their store. And he said he would see what he could do, because the Steam overlay makes the mouse in DDO a little wonky.
