Did anyone else experience hard or firm tissue around the surgical site?  I have localized areas which are firm underneath the skin above the clitoris/hood area and around the outer labia.  Did it go away?  How long?  It does seem to be getting better but this is becoming very depressing.  I'm 30 days post-op and don't look like any of the other results out there around the same time frame.  I still have stitches coming out of me and experience pain around the clitoral/hood area if I walk or stand for too long.  Not happy.

yes hon I couldn't walk or stand for any length of time at 30 days either, and I was just barely able to sit and drive my car at that time. Firmness above the clitoral/hood area is to be expected because there is actually erectile tissue under there, and the clitoris extends a good bit underneath the skin all around. It all sounds pretty normal to me. It was a good 6-8 weeks before I felt like things were even starting to get back to normal down there.

Thanks Cloe, you don't know how distressed I was over this.  For some reason they dont explain these things to you in Montreal.  I guess that explains the feelings of having an erection that I get from time to time.  I'm beginning to feel better now.

Hi Kristyn,

Yes, I had alot of firmness under the skin around the clitoral area. And, also at the top where the incisions start there is a knot under the skin.

It subsided and doesnt feel hard/firm anymore ...unless I get turned on. That still feels strange to me.

I was wondering about the area around the sutures too, thanks Val!

This area above my clitoral area is going crazy--it's constantly engorging then subsiding and it's putting a lot of tension on the sutures at the hood.  It hurts,it burns and sometimes feels like it is going to pop.  If I think of anything erotic I can feel that whole area engorge an tingle.  I just want these sutures to go!  I guess everything is working the way it should.

I know that surge feeling. Gets tender at times too  :)
I have scar tissue at the entrance to my vagina, very stiff and can get sore with dialation.

This tissue, if massaged, will soften over time. I am supplemeting the massage with 100% pure lanolin to soften the scar tissue. (available from the baby isle as a nipple softener  :)

I am and it is, the thing that bothers me is that the healing is uneven--one side is more swollen than the other.  It's been that way since day one and one of those areas is some of the hard tissue I was talking about.

Yes, you do get engorgement of the clitoris when excited.
Maybe this would be more pleasant to you if it was dissociated from the previous phenomena.

The top ending points of the main incision sometimes develop hard spots, almost like a big pimple under the skin.
It may take a very long time for these to subside, up to a year.

Actually, it would be more pleasant if these damn sutures which are holding my inner labia together would finally go!  :)

These areas are beginning to soften up.  Actually since yesterday I've noticed changes--primarily less swelling in the lower parts.  The side which is more swollen than the other is starting to subside as well.  Basically, I'm noticing small changes daily but, for some reason, yesterday everything was really bothering me.  Things didn't seem to be moving along like I hoped they would.  Today they are much better.

Given that, I think I will have to go back for a small revision to my trach shave.  Although the area is significantly smaller, there is a tiny little bump which I wish he would have removed.  It's really only visible in a relaxed position but, when I stretch my neck, it's gone.  It's like the size of a small pea.

Hey Kristyn, the hardness you experience goes away.. my tissue is getting softer and softer and yes the harder part you get sometimes is definitely the erectile tissue, but this is super helpful to reach the big O!

As soon I feel a bit engorged, my chances of climax are better. I actually always reached the big O rubbing as if I already had a vag.... The thing is,... since SRS... I feel I  can reach an O way faster then before while I was on hormones.

I was doing my sitz bath 2 days ago and I noticed this long chunk of brown in my tub, it turned out to be a long scab I had along the main incision.. It's funny because I thought that underneath that scab I would be presented with a red line / unhealed tissue.. but to my surprise I can't believe it... I CAN hardly see if there is even anything there of a visible proof that it was cut!! my skin healed nice for that one part.. im still waiting for the scab to fall off the other part of the main incision but that one is a tad bit smaller...

Now the only really visible areas I have are the 2 top circles i have and where the graft was sowed together, I have a line that you know it was sown together.. however, im not worried... im sure it will blend in time.
