Hey!
I'm wondering what the process of getting T is.  With a lot of details on the general route of therapy and informed consent. So, how do you get a gender therapist? I know there are some in my area, but do you get some sort of referral or what?
Also, what about informed consent? how does that work, and what is the process of getting it?
I live in Massachusetts, USA in case these vary between states...
Thanks!

Do you live near boston? If so you DEFINITELY need to go to the Sidney Borum Jr. Health Center. I went through only 6 weeks of therapy and immediately was prescribed testosterone. The therapist office that works with the Borum is right next door so they work together with the doctors. My therapist and I agreed that its a transsexuals heaven.

Will they prescribe testosterone to persons under the age of 18?

I'm not sure but if so then I'm sure you'll have to have your parents consent.

I'd definitely advise you to check them out either way.

I'm on T through informed consent....all I had to do was find a doctor who did informed consent (obviously)...most doctors don't advertise it, so you should ask.
He required that I have some kind of letter stating that I'd been to therapy in the past or currently for ANY reason...not gender crap.
And that's it. I had to sign something saying I knew the effects of T and if something happened and I didn't want to be on it or I like, died or something...I wouldn't hold the doctor responsible.

How did you find a doc like that, just call every number in the phone book?
