Hey girls, I was wondering if any of you know anything about little bumps on the areola.  I am officially 1 month with estrogen, progesterone and spiro and just noticed little bumps forming on my areola.

those are lubrication glands.They help your nipples not dry out when you nurse a kids.

Really? Wow, I thought all males had those. I have had gynecomastia since puberty, but I didn't realize those bumps were anything. My endo did check me out before prescribing hormones and said I had milk glands in my right breast. I am SO glad I didn't have them removed before starting my transition to female.

They are called Areolar glands or Glands of Montgomery and as LordKAT says they secrete an oily substance that help protect the areola and the nipple.

I have them as well, generally closer to the edge of the areola than the nipple.  I can't remember ever not having them.

For some reason I had that on my left areola since I was around 11 or 12. I never really understood why I could secrete fluid from my nipple or that I could feel a lump under the areolar area. I started HRT, and I realized that was breast growth however slight.
