I just came accross this video on youtube.. I personally was quite offended when I watched it, but noticed that Calpernia Adams was in it at 1:22 ... I can see the funny side, but its just another way to make fun of the transgendered I guess.

Thoughts??

Yes you said it is sort of funny, but very offensive.  Even if it was made by one of us.

Wonderful, another reason for people to label us as trash and try to treat us like whores...

I thought it was disgusting, stupid and in poor taste  :icon_blink:  :icon_weirdface:  :icon_blah:

mrrh... er...
I don't know what to think of it tbh..
I can see how the idea was to silly, just make fun of it.
I mean, one's got to have humor for one's own situation or one might loose it, but.. this just..
over the top.

Way over the top.

I am very hard to offend. But even by my standards, that was borderline offensive. I enjoyed it for it's production value's if nothing else.

I as always look at the face value of the spoken word. This vid was in extreme bad taste with borderline language and offensive ideology, HOWEVER, said that, it nevertheless speaks of transgender subject like it or not. As any good businessman or adman will say, good advertising is good, in your face advertising is better. This might make some cringe and feel offended but the idea of transgender community existing out there with good and bad and perhaps dirty humor, but it makes a valuable argument of that community existing and not going quietly into the night. So lough out loud and lough, not at them, but with them.
Since my childhood in the early 70s and til now, the change in perception and acceptance of different lifestyle has evolved tremendously. Same will continue forth until it becomes a main stream of day to day life everywhere, just like rap music infiltrated mainstream. I'll take any influence to further our cause in any light because any light is better than darkness.

I was expecting a Monty Python song.
Offencive? Maybe, but it was more satire. More like a drag queen.

clicked it off after the first line.
we can do without crap like this.

....wow. Saw the title and had to click it but I sure was not expecting that. It was definitely bad taste. Only part I really found funny was the asking Victoria what the h*ll her secret is but that's because I've always wondered. There just aren't words to explain why someone would make that...

I really tried to find the humor in it while watching. :( But honestly, it's just.. not there.

I feel like the concept has potential, but it's too whorish and mean to really be considered 'laughing at yourself', which I think was what they were aiming for (I hope?)

Alexia has a point, it does get us out there. Any spoken word of transgender issues is still spoken word, and spreads awareness, but... I can't say that I would want it to be in this manner. I think it paints a bad image of why MTF's get GRS. It's not JUST so sex feels right, or so you can fit in panties or whatever, it's to feel like YOU.

The whole thing is just trashy, IMHO.

Agreed.. after doing some research of the actor/actress in the video, I found that this is a drag queen and not a "transsexual", so that is still like mocking people.. what I don't get is why Calpernia Adams made an appearance in such an offensive video?!

Meh, it wasn't really that funny.

And yeah, offensive. Fodder for "->-bleeped-<- jokes."
