Yesterday I was playing with my hair (unsuccessfully) trying to make something acceptable out of them, and lifting them I could not help but notice how unmistakingly male my hairline was. I guess I just did not want to see it until now. I don't have anything to take pictures with, so here's an ugly drawing made with Paint.



I'm talking about those weird "bays" on each side of the forehead.

I think I've noticed this appears even in child males, while females, young and old, seem to retain a round one without "bays". This means at least I'm not prematurely aging and losing my hair in a M pattern. But it also seems to mean it's not going to go away.

But mine are way, way too visible, and I think those "bays" will always keep me from tying my hair and clearing my forehead. Is there any way to make it go away without going for the scalp advancement thingy that makes the top of your hair feel like a dead animal's fur which I do NOT want to undergo ? Do hair grafts appear, feel natural ? Do they "stay there" ?

Or could it be, by a gift of whatever divinity you want, that HRT corrects this to some extent ?

I've heard plenty of (non-trans) women complain about their foreheads, not sure about the peaks you describe - but I would say give it some time and see what happens.  Oftentimes, we nitpick the slightest thing to decide we don't "pass".  As time goes by your feelings might change about your forehead.

Yeah that happens it's male hormones when I started HRT some of it regrew most in those regions however those areas still remain, Some girls do have them but I'm aware of how irksome they can be, it's not too hard to style your hair about to draw attention from them depending on how sevear they are, I also had ocipital boney brow ridges so my best bet was to hide the whole thing with a fringe, It's not perfect the wind is now my worst enemy but it's all I can do with the current resources I've got.

Honestly, I worried about this too.The thing is a lot of bio women have them as well,my mom has it. I saw two women with it yesterday. If it bothers you that much though you can always have your hairline lowered.

 I have the same problem. I don't think hrt has made a difference. Probably because my mother has the same hairline as I do. I am thinking of getting bangs?

Bangs are the shorter hair that covers your forehead to some degree.  The definition has some fluidity; some people might consider that forehead hair to be considered "bangs" when they're fully grown out, some might consider them to be only when they're at a specific length. 

Fringe haircuts are bangs that curl over the forehead.  In some places the words are used interchangeably; the way it's used here though, bangs typically refer to the forehead hair in general, and fringe refers to haircuts where the bangs cover the forehead.

Its always been my understanding its the difference between American and British English, what we call bangs they call fringe.  The hair on your head that hangs over your forehead.

Hi girls,

I'm a pre-T FTM (therefore, pretty "female") and I have that sort of exaggerated hairline.



My Dad has a ridiculous "M" shaped hairline, so I'm sure once I'm on T I'll get some hair loss happening there.  As you can see, I've got some little wispy hairs grown in there that will probably grow in for you once you've been on HRT for a while.

Bottom line: Don't worry about it! It a normal part of human variation

That is typical male pattern baldness (MPB) that hits in as guys pass puberty in many cases.

A fringe (I believe they call it a Bang in the US) style is one way around the problem. There are also surgical options such as transplant or scalp advance.

Once on HRT the problem should stop and if you are young and lucky the hair may grow back.
