lifesitenews.com, which opposes the Canadian trans rights bill mentioned in a preceding post here. The group uses the old washroom argument, as in "it will lead to male cross-dressers and drag queens having the legal right to use female bathrooms . . . Jim Hughes, national president of Campaign Life Coalition, said that the bill "not only flies in the face of common sense, but is also potentially dangerous by creating the legitimized access that sexual predators often seek," by opening the door to men using women's bathrooms. "Imagine a young girl - your daughter or granddaughter - goes into a washroom and finds a man there. How is the young girl to determine whether or not the man in the bathroom is a 'peeping tom,' a rapist or a pedophile?"
I (Jillian) wonder: what is stopping male sexual predators, ie. criminals, from crossdressing and going into female washrooms now? Do they need a trans rights bill to break the law? The fact is, the argument is bogus. I don't know of any documented cases of trans people sexually abusing anybody in washrooms, or of male criminals masquerading as women to commit crimes in washrooms. The argument is simply a scare tactic.
