So, There's this cat that doesn't get along well with a lot of people. It's pretty tough to become good friends with her, but I have. :)
Turns out, all the people she gets along well with are all guys. I've never seen her sit in any female's lap, nor has anyone else who lives with her.

Have any of you had  similar experience?

My cat typically likes guys also. She will only sit by my sister or mom if there is no one else available. She loves me and my dad. But I had also started T before we got her so I don't know.
Call me a cheat but I make my own fate.

My dog normally doesn't like guys, but she met a friend of mine (who's FtM) and she loved him.  I think I might have offended him by telling him such, and I feel bad for it but it came out not in the way I met it.  I thought it was fantastic she finally liked another guy--it's something I've been struggling to overcome with her and I'm so happy she liked him.  He was the first guy she liked and after that, she's been going up to guys to get pet.

I'm always getting along with the pets that people say "oh, he doesn't like girls", but I chalk it up to me just knowing how to interact with the pets. XD

when I was with my old employer, in male mode, I went to deliver to a customer's home.  We get there and hop out of the truck.  And here comes this pit bull.  :o  She runs up to me and promptly sits.  I started to pet her and she was so friendly.

The customer showed up and sated that the dog was a real lover.  The customer stated that he never saw the dog act the way she was with men.  She usually only did it when she was around women.  ::)  She know.  And she was telling everyone that I was a woman, even if they could not see it.  :D

I've been told repeatedly "S/He usually only likes blokes, how odd!"... ^^

One of my friends had a dog and she was super scared of guys. she would not come out if I was at their house, and that was before I started t, but whenever I would go outside and it would just be girls in the house she would come and be fine!  After I was on T she acted the exact same way to me, there was no change at all. so i guess she knew...i don't know?

Huh, this is an interesting topic, it's something I've been thinking about lately because I work with dogs, I work for a doggie daycare at a very large pet resort.

I'm pre-everything so what I'm wondering is if the dogs' behavior towards me will change when I do.  We have a lot of dogs who were abused rescues and many of them are scared of men.

I'm pretty sure the dogs that already know and love me will still recognize me, dogs go mostly on smell for everything they perceive, and even if my body odor changes, it should be similar enough for the dogs to pick up on, and also many of the smells from home I bring in with me on my clothes and belongings will be the same.

I do think that a lot of fear from new dogs towards men stems from their lower voices though, so I'm thinking if my voice drops significantly (it's already on the lower side of things, for a female anyways), I might have issues with some newer dogs.  I have to say, it would depress me a bit to have dogs cower from me where they wouldn't before, but I know enough about canine body language and warning signals that hopefully I could adjust and utilize ways of approaching them more gently so as to not cause them as little stress as possible.

On the flip side we've got a giant Alaskan Malamute who's kind of a punk in daycare who only seems to listen to men.  The only time he'll listen to me even is when I yell in the lowest voice I can muster at him.  It'd be awesome to have him stop humping the other dogs when I tell him to without having to wrench him off of them. XD

^_^;

I just always get the "man my cat/dog/bird/etc doesn't ever allow anyone to touch/go near them". I'm just an animal person. So I couldn't really tell you if it's any solid proof about that.
