PAGE – Sitting with her hands folded in her lap and speaking softly, Jennifer Dencklau's demeanor is ladylike and friendly.

Her perfectly manicured fingernails and delicate feminine blouse are in contrast to her 200 pounds, six-foot-one inch stature and strong facial features.

At 64-years-old, Dencklau has found acceptance and peace living in Page, and bears the distinction of being not only the first transgender commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9632, but possibly in the country.
