I was talking to my nurse last night about a variety of things and she pointed out something to me. I keep trying to go to school and transition and for the last few years I really only have spun my wheels on both. She told me, as in her words she is old enough to be my mom, that I need to pick one and get it out of the way. I came to the decision that I will focus on getting my surgery done, hopefully in the next year.

I already decided that since I want to lose 70 pounds (everyone is suppressed at my actual weight) it is a perfect time to go on a diet. I am trying to find cheaper internet and if I can't i'll simply use the local library. I am thinking of walking to work to save gas. (Harsh winters here, but do able) But that is really all I can think of besides using sales and thrift stores to save money.

As for making money I plan to work 2 40 hour jobs for the next year, as well apply for some charity loans. I also heard some people ask for money online and people might donate, but that sounds a little iffy to me.

Biggest hurdle I have is my letters. Being in Wyoming there are surprisingly few gender therapists. I found some that might do a email or over the phone work, but that again sounds iffy. Any advice or suggestions?

I want to become a nurse, and i want to get one of the bigger hurdles out of the way. So my goal is to get the money over the next year. I can, and I will, do this. 

You live in Wyoming?  Phew.  Thought I was the only one 

But, is there any way you can just travel to Colorado for your letters?  Like you said, Wyoming doesn't have very many gender therapists, and I can't help but question how helpful they would be.  I think Trinidad would be the best town but it might be too far away.  Either way, I would try Colorado if possible. 

Besides, that, I'd have to say good luck to you.  That sounds really tough.  Two 40 hour jobs?  Good thing you have the determination.

There are a number of psychologists in Wyoming who are knowledgeable about gender issues but do not specialize.  (They'd starve, for one thing.)  The closest gender specialist that I know of to southeastern Wyoming is in Loveland CO.  Contact the Lambda Community Center (lambdacenter.org) in Fort Collins for information.

As most of us have found the only way to save up a pile of cash is not to spend.

Update: Been a bit of a hiccup, hopefully i've only lost my job on a temporary note. At least everyone in management has been VERY interested in how soon I get my license back from the state. Always a good sign. ^.^ But hopefully in the next week or two the paperwork gets back and I start working on the next step, moving to Denver! Why Denver? Cause its closer then Chicago. ;P

As a side, no matter what you get told by whom, get you paperwork in for licenses asap ladies and gents. Trust me, its better then trying to get the government to move fast. >.>
