Family of a Transgender

http://ksax.com/article/stories/s1835453.shtml

GREATER MINNESOTA- When Dale Dressler decided to become openly transgender her family was left with questions including how would their relationship change.

Dale eventually changed her name to Dee Ellen Dressler but first had to first tell her wife that she felt like a woman despite having the body of a man.

"my first reaction was to cry for the little girl that never got to be," Dee's Wife Jennifer Amy-Dressler said. "Then several months later I started realizing my own fears."
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde

Oh my! I was a bit nervous about doing this interview but Brian was very respectful and I think he put together a nice piece. I'd be interested to know what other folks think.

BTW, I did a google search and found that it had made it to Susan's. I'm now nervous about how far spread this is. Oh well...

Yikes.

When I first click in I went to the story and thought how brave to have her story out there.  And I felt that it was done with a positive spin.  How a family deals with a member who comes out to them.  And I heard Dee's wife speaking about she had to change, but was willing to in support of the person she loves.

The kids are supportive of a parent who is going thru one of the hardest thing that anyone can do.

And then I when to reply and realized that Dee was one of our own.  Dee, you and your family have show at least Minnesota that we are just normal people with families.  You have do a lot of Transpeople every where.

Congratulations.
