I had never worked before in my life. At 18 and year out of HS, I had been looking for a job through that time. I wasn't even looking very hard. While I had several interviews, I was never hired, but finally struck one with Disneyland. I was practically guaranteed a job after the interview and began as a seasonal worker. Work ended in September and I applied for a part time position. I was called back in October and now I have a job that respects me being TS. I'm practically stealth at work.

While I found work amazingly well, my father spent two years trying the job he has now and he just started a week ago. He was also orignially fired from his previous job and he's about 55. So yeah.

Just keep looking and you'll find some work. Try temporary things, one time things, seasonal things. They all add up in the end if you can find them. All the while you can find a steady job. Three are jobs out there.
I'll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way, If I can be strong
I know every mile, Will be worth my while

When I go the distance, I'll be right where I belong

I worked the summer at a kids petting zoo type thing. Hard work out in the heat 8 hours a day at min. wage. Still work though. Unfortunately the place closes after octobers through till june =/ So now i'm out of work again. I've applied to a few places, but I suppose i'm lucky because i'm gong to uni soon and my parents have agreed to cover my costs and living till I graduate from uni. I think it was mentioned, but bus drivers are in demand where I live. I know a little while ago in my city there was such a severe lack of bus drivers kids had to start taking city bus' to school and using public transit. If you're desperate for work, maybe try applying as a bus driver? Um fast food places hire a lot too. If you can find remote ones on the edge of your town, I find they seem to be hiring more than the ones in the city. Walmart is usually hiring too.
Just my two cents.
