What do you do for that "time of the month"?

I started my period today at school (it was incredibly awkward. It took ten minutes to find the nurse's office and I started hyperventilating in the hallway because I'm a guy who has periods and that just doesn't work.) When I finally found the nurse's office and asked for a pad, I began to wonder, you know, what if I start again? I can't just keep going to the nurse for pads.

What do you guys do for that, uh, time of the month? I mean, I'm sure you guys don't carry purses, so do you just stick tampons or pads in your pocket or what? I've just been lucky about always starting while I'm home.

I carry a purse. -.-

Anyway, you can place the pad in a pocket and you can also place a tampon in a pocket (they even have nifty travel tampons that are like an inch long in appearance).  If you carry a book bag, you could also place them in a pocket in the book bag.

Oh, I'm sorry. D: I don't mean to offend anyone.

True, I could put them in my backpack. Putting them in my pocket would be a little awkward because I use pockets to hold everything. XD

Carry a book bag around, try to get one that has discreet pouch (my last bag had a huge pocket in the back of the bag, and my current one has a smaller pouch inside one of the larger sections) just have one on you there all the time

And you didn't offend me--it's just a bit odd to be (most likely) the only guy who carries a purse on here and who enjoys going purse shopping (I even requested a new one from my parents for Christmas).  But I also carry a bunch of things that won't fit in pockets (like my address book which has all the contact information for my family;  I have a medical condition that might pop up in unlikely places).

>> I wish my pockets fit everything, but my pants shrunk in the wash so I can't fit anything in my pockets. T.T

I'm paranoid to death about being caught off guard.  I normally have a good idea frame, and wear a pad a head of schedule (like 2 days or so).  It's a bit uncomfortable, but it rests my mind.  (Before birth control however, I'd wear one a week in advance because it'd turn up without a pattern)

Edit: I mis-understand your original post.  I can't contribute anymore though.  I don't bleed enough to have a need for carrying them around.

what I used to do was I would know in general when i should expect my period (near the end of the month) and i would keep tampons on me in my pockets or in my bookbag, and i would wear black pants just in case if randomly started bleeding.

Tampon in a pocket or a backpack if I'm expecting it. If caught by surprise, I use folded-up toilet paper as a temporary stopgap. But I'm a really light bleeder (more so now that I'm on T) so TP works for hours, I never bleed through my pants before noticing, and I can go all day on one tampon if absolutely necessary. If you bleed more heavily, you might have to stock more and carry it all the time and possibly start wearing pads/pantyliners the week before.

i keep some pads in a folded up bandana in this like, secret compartment thing under my cars armrest, and keep it locked.
lol, yeah i dont like to have them on my mind when i dont need them, and i dont need anyone accidently finding them =(
but id just die if i was caught off guard without them, especailly at school where its a 8-hour class full of guys o-o

but physically when i am 'on it', and know i need one, i just stuff one in my waist band and it stays there until i need it.

I just put a few in a brown bag, fold it over and stick it in my pocket. No ones gonna think twice if they see that. I also have a small pouch I got free at the hospital that was for bandaids (the big gause ones) so I used that too if people see it they just assume its mediacal supplies and I can always say its my meds or something.

I've got cargo pants with a multitude of pockets, so I use one of the closeable pockets and put a buncha pads in it. I tend to always carry some with me, just in case, since my fertility cycle is irregular and only follows Murphy's Law.

I can't use tampons and I'm kind of thinking about going to the doctor's for a check-up just to see if there's anything wrong with my genitals (I've tried to read up on what's normal for such parts to look like, and I haven't found anything about what I have).

Sorry if this is weird and too much info, but: around the opening, there is a kind of "ring" of skin, kind of like flower petals. What is this, is this normal, is it dangerous? I have tried to use tampons, but the "petals" keeps the opening closed and thusly it doesn't fit. Highlight this text if you want to read it. It contains gross biology, that's why I hid it like this.

Sounds like the hymen. You can use tampons, the hymen is very flexible.

This is going to sound like a retarded oxymoron but I try to carry a "manly purse." The one I use right now is leather and kindof looks like a sporran, and I just let it hang out over my crotch like a sporran would.

(What's a sporran? It's the bag on a kilt; they come in a variety of styles, here's a simple leather one in use http://www.farlander.org/xmarks_pics/Leather_W_Sporran.jpg and here's an assortment of different styles http://www.rehupa.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/sporran.jpg)

I always have a backpack with books and in the front pocket I keep some pads. Lots of people take their backpack into the stall anyway.

I agree with JohnR. That sounds like your hymen. If you're still worried about it though, go to the doctor.

Perfectly normal if you haven't yet had penetrative sex. It's perfectly safe to use tampons with your hymen intact but can be a little difficult for some people who have an unusually small opening. If you try to "force" one in and it tears, it may bleed just a little bit and hurt slightly, but will heal just fine and doesn't require any special care. If you're not comfortable with that, just keep using pads. If you're still concerned, you can have a doctor look at it.

I carry a pad in my pocket.  If my pockets aren't big enough, I put it in my boot.  Or in the inside pocket of my jacket.

I always have my backpack with me, so I carry pads. There's no way I stick a tampon or anything else down there, if you catch my drift, that's a complete no-go.  (it works for me).
What do I do. Well, I take it like a man, and wait a week until it's gone. I don't like it, but I'm also not as dysphoric about it as some guys are. I'm lucky that way.

I also use/used my pockets for everything [in hs I literally had a my classes separated into my cargo pockets and would just fold almost everything in 4]  Now its a bit less, but they're still often crowded... then again I no longer bleed on myself [your time will come!]
If it had been about time I'd keep one in my auxilary back pocket [one back pocket for my wallet and the other was usually empty.]

I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
