sorry, I'm 24 ftm and live in a small town in TN of about 5,000 with two red lights. I'm a musician, I love all types of music and could go on and on about it. I haven't really came out to anyone, just one person that lives 300 miles away from me. I'm an introvert with spontaneous spurts of sociability.
idk why I haven't came out to my friends, they are all very accepting and most of them are a part of the lgbtq community. I guess I don't want word to get back to my overly religous parents. other than that, I really don't know what else to say. I've searched endlessly on the internet about T, binding and surgeries, but still have a lot of questions.

See, that is an awesome intro man. This is a great place to find the answers for your questions. There are a lot of new guys lately I've noticed. Understandable that you don't want your parents to find out, I'm sorry they're like that

Welcome to the forum.  It is interesting, but a few years ago, I hardly heard of F2M, mostly it was M2F, and now there are as many F2M as M2F.  That is quite interesting.

I feel for you and your parents.  I went through the same deal keeping things secret at all costs for years, because I was afraid.    It took me years to build up the courage.  I am glad that I finally came out, but I understand that I was not ready before, because I had to grow inside and be comfortable with me.  I had to get used to the fact and I am trans and be accepting of it.  It almost sounds crazy, when you first thing about it, but it makes sense too.

Although I am the complete opposite than you and still at the beginning, I am happy to answer any questions, as are I presume everyone else here.

Congratulations on getting the nerve to finally open up.

Question for you, if you do not mind.  Did you always know but were afraid to ask, or is your being trans something that gradually came up and something that you are realizing now.  You did not mention that.  Did you always feel different from other girls?

My whole life has been experiencing things from an M2F point of view.  I am quite curious about how someone else experiences it.

I hope that living in Tennessee will not be an issue.  That is a very highly red state, although there is a trans community there.  I used to correspond briefly with an M2F person several years back, who lived in Tennessee and she was fine.  She kept talking about Southern Comfort, which from what I remember is in that area.

Sounds like maybe you're not too keen on small towns, but being a musician, you'll probably appreciate John Mellencamp's tune.  You write songs?  Play an instrument?  Favorite bands?  Ambition to do music professionally and go bigtime?  Just wondering.

Awesome that you have friends who are very accepting.  Religious parents in a small town.  That's a challenge.  This website could be a place for you to just be yourself.  Your choice.

yes, I've always known that I was different than all the other girls. I've always known that i'm trans. I have been a "tomboy" my whole life, I refused to wear dresses, would have much rather played with ninja turtles than barbies any day. I started binding when I was 17, I use ACE bandages but have read that that is not the best way of binding. But since I'm kinda poor, that's my only option.

Nah, TN isn't that bad, and since I live in such a small town where everybody knows everybody, you kinda learn who to stay away from. But yes, I get stared down if I go to the local grocery store, I can hear ppl behind me talking about me, and have, on two seperate occasions, been told that I was going to hell by complete strangers. But they are just ppl who use jesus as an excuse for being a narrowminded bigoted....well you know.

nah, I'm not too keen on the small town scene lol and yes I play several instruments, guitar, piano, drums, bass, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, violin and sax to name a few. And yes I write songs, but most of them end up in the trash. As for my favorite bands....there are way too many to name. I listen to everything (I know a lot of ppl say that but I really do), any genre will do. John Melloncamp is on my list as well 

It is sad how people use Jesus / God to push their hatred and bigotry, when God / Jesus is about love and understanding.  Jesus was the one that took a prostitute, the LGBT of his day, and demanded compassion and respect.
